Kape de Filipina is five years old today. I can’t believe it 🙈 What started as a home-based online business now has its own home in Helmholtzkiez. We’ve reached more homes and cafes in parts of the world we never imagined we’d reach. And I’ve met so many of you who have been nothing but encouraging and open. KdF wouldn’t have gotten here without your support and I can’t thank you all enough.

Fresh from our kitchen: Our pandesal is finally here ♥️ Tag all your bread loving friends!

Pandesal is soft, lightly sweet, and finished with its signature golden breadcrumb crust. It is the everyday bread roll found on breakfast tables across the Philippines. Best enjoyed warm and paired with a hot cup of coffee.

We’ve been working on perfecting ours since the start of June, testing, tweaking, tasting… and we’re so happy it’s finally ready to share at the café.

A tough woman’s job. Here’s a little peek at what goes on during production day (aka roast day). We roast the coffees we need for the next 2-3 weeks, put them in our cans, and wait for them to degas and reach their peak aroma 🩷 All that before they reach the cafe hoppers!

Calamansi is a small citrus fruit that’s native to the Philippines. It’s tart and sour like a lime, but with sweet, floral, and aromatic notes similar to a mandarin or lemon. And at the cafe, you can have the real deal - juice made of 100% squeezed calamansi sweetened with honey.

Our tip: Add a shot of espresso on top to make an Espresso Sunrise! It’s the perfect, unexpected pairing that will definitely wake you (and your senses!) up in the morning 🍋‍🟩☕️

Spend a cozy afternoon drawing all things coffee: mugs, beans, croissants, and latte art, guided step by step. No drawing experience needed ✨ You’ll bring your favorite pieces together into a print that’s uniquely yours!

This will be a small group, so there’s room for guidance, good conversation, and a finished piece to take home.

What’s included:

Someone pinch me!! 🥹✨ We officially opened our doors at Kape de Filipina ONE MONTH AGO, and what a whirlwind of a month it’s been!

I’ve always dreamt of building a warm, welcoming space but I could have never anticipated the incredible wave of support, love, and energy you’ve all brought with you every single day. ♥️

To everyone who took a chance on us since week one, to those who spread the word to friends, and especially to the amazing faces who have already become our regulars, maraming salamat, thank you, vielen Dank!

If there’s anything, my team and I really LOVE to get to know you all — thesis ladies, the mums, the fur parents, the ones who come with their notebooks.
