Soli Aepia You can find us in the old town of Paphos, next to the Laiki Geitonia (market).Βρισκόμαστ? Aepia was an area which was inherited by Achilles from Agamemnon.

The name of our restaurant derives itself from two well known archaeological areas which are found in the now occupied northern terrertories of Cyprus, Soli and Aepia. Later, (560BC), legend has it, the King of Aepia, Filokipros, following the advice of Solon the Athenian, transported his Kingdom towards the coast of Morphou. There began the ancient community which flourished as the Kingdom with s

pecial significance to history and became the community of Cyprus known as ‘Soli’ in honour of Solon the Athenian.

Το όνομα του εστιατορίου μας προέρχεται από δύο σημαντικούς αρχαιολογικούς χώρους που βρίσκονται στη κατεχόμενη από τους Τούρκους, βόρεια Κύπρο, την Αίπεια και τους Σόλους.Η Αίπεια ήταν ομηρική πόλη που δόθηκε ως προίκα από τον Αγαμέμνονα στον Αχιλλέα.Αργότερα (560π.Χ), κατά την παράδοση, ο βασιλιάς της Αίπειας, Φιλόκυπρος, με τη συμβουλή του Σόλωνα του Αθηναίου (του μεγάλου νομοθέτη- ένας από τους 7 σοφούς της αρχαίας Ελλάδας) μετέφερε την έδρα του βορειότερα προς την παραλία του σημερινού κόλπου της Μόρφου. Εκεί άκμασε ο αρχαίος πολιτισμός και ιδρύθηκε βασίλειο με σημαντική συμβολή στην ιστορία και τον πολιτισμό της Κύπρου που ονομάστηκε ‘Σόλοι’ προς τιμή του Σόλωνα του Αθηναίου
