We opened in February 2018 in the attempt to bring you interesting wines + inventive small plates, back when wine bars featuring natural, local + other lesser-celebrated wines hadn't yet boomed on these mean streets, and serving dishes trying to fluidly mix international + Chinese elements in a ‘haipai’ homage to Shanghai as a city.

It's been an amazing 4 years on Wuyuan Lu, and we couldn't leave without saying a final goodbye. We are very sad to leave behind spaces that have been our home since 2017, but we are so proud of everything we have done as Bird + in these spaces.
