David Bassan has devoted nearly 30 years to his career. He has traveled through more than 20 countries around the world, has worked in five-star luxury hotels as Executive Chef throughout 6 cities, and has opened 12 outlets in different places. Now Chef Bassan has turned attention to his new project, the Velluto Italian Restaurant, located at Bund 66 on Nanjing Road East,

Situated on the infamous Bund promenade, one of the hottest tourist destinations, Bund 66 is a recently refurbished building next to the glamorous Art-Deco masterpiece, the Peace Hotel. Walking off the crowded streets and entering into Velluto, feels like entering into another world. The restaurant creates a visual sensory experience through combining cold and warm colours. The wood ceilings, white marble decorations, and restored ancient leather furniture brings a hint of Renaissance to mind. Such a low-key chic ambiance perfectly matches the concept of the food.
