In the hot summer of 2005, with his understanding of Beijing and his dream of selling American pizza, our graduate Olav Kristoffer Bauer , whose father is American and mother is Norwegian started his business in a quiet corner outside the west gate of Peking University. The Kro’s Nest, the restaurant’s name, comes from Olav Kristoffer’s short name and his plan of offering a “nest” for friends’ hap
py gatherings. After six months, the Kro’s Nest’s brand was gradually known among foreigners and recognized by Chinese. With more and more people loving the brand, Kro’s Nest keeps a foothold in food service industry selling its American style pizza in Beijing. In the middle of June, 2010, a new and professional team was formed to rebuild the Kro’s Nest’s brand. On the 17th December, the Kro’s Nest Xiao Yun Lu flagship store opened with a upgraded brand, pizzas and dining environment. Attention to detail showed the Kro’s Nest’s unique culture and dedication to its customers.On 29th August, 2011, another Kro’s Nest store opened in San Li Tun, attracting the Kro’s Nest’s fans living in the area. The Kro’s Nest has become a leader among Beijing pizza restaurants through the years. Since 2013, the Kro’s Nest has been devoted toward providing the best it has to offer to its customers, while adhering to its company culture of “ Accomplishment, Participation, Innovation and Efficiency ” (A PIE).
