Tucked away at the far end of Findeln, on the right-hand side of Easy Run 6 in winter, or reached by a gentle 20-minute walk from Sunnegga station, Findlerhof is one of those places that feels worth seeking out. Rustic in the best sense, cosy without trying too hard, and full of the kind of quiet charm that makes you settle in almost immediately.
For us, it has become the go-to place for excellent Rösti and a good glass of w**e, usually as part of a long summer lunch before walking back down to Zermatt via Winklematten. That return hike somehow makes lingering feel even more justified.
What makes Findlerhof so appealing is not only the setting, though the views more than deliver, but the atmosphere. Warm, relaxed, and reassuringly family-run, it feels like a place that understands the pleasure of taking your time. Some lunches are simply meals. Others stretch gently into the best part of the day. This is very much the latter.
