🍂 Our Autumn Menu Series, Part 2: Smoky Bonito Onigiri! 🍂

Continuing our little journey through Japan, this time we’re taking a closer look at a Japanese classic that proves simple things can be full of flavour.

Meet our Smoky Bonito Onigiri.

Onigiri is a Japanese rice ball, traditionally shaped into a triangle and wrapped in nori (roasted seaweed). A much-loved everyday staple in Japan, it’s found everywhere from family kitchens to convenience stores.

For our version, we top it with katsuobushi: paper-thin, smoked bonito flakes that bring a distinctive smoky aroma and deep savoury umami. You can enjoy yours with Japanese mayo for a creamy touch, or our homemade rayu chilli oil for a little extra kick.

Two ways to enjoy a Japanese classic, with a little Ramen am See twist. 😉

Available throughout autumn, alongside our Yamagata Spicy Miso Ramen and Thai Drunken Noodles!

🍂 Our New Autumn Menu is Here! 🍂

Cozy up by the lake this season! We are thrilled to introduce our new autumn lineup featuring three seasonal specials: our Smoky Bonito Onigiri, the Yamagata Spicy Miso Ramen, and Thai Drunken Noodles.

First, we are putting the spotlight on a regional ramen speciality from Yamagata Prefecture in Japan: Spicy Miso Ramen.

This bowl brings a taste of Japan’s regional ramen traditions to Ägeri. At its heart is our rich miso broth, paired with fresh homemade noodles and marinated, pan-seared Swiss chicken. A generous scoop of our homemade karamiso ball, made from seasoned miso paste and chilli, slowly melts into the broth, adding layers of warmth and flavour. We finish it with a drizzle of our signature homemade rayu chilli oil for an extra kick.

Every region has its own way of making ramen, and we love exploring these differences and bringing them to our guests, one bowl at a time.

We had a lot of fun researching and testing this one, and we hope you’ll enjoy it as much as we do! 😉

October's Sake of the Month: Rihaku Dreamy Clouds ☁️🍶

Unfiltered, naturally cloudy and wonderfully smooth.

This nigori-style sake from Shimane has a gentle sweetness and creamy texture that pairs beautifully with ramen, gyoza and or our newly introduced mochi.

Available by the glass or bottle throughout October.

Yes, we make our own ramen noodles.

Every batch is rolled, cut and portioned right here in Oberägeri. No shortcuts, just a rather satisfying machine doing its thing.

The result? Fresh noodles made for our bowls, not just noodles added to them. 🍜
