Honestly speaking, although the Supreme Existence has expressed vocal sounds in all creatures of His creation, He has scattered musical melodies within certain souls—which is truly a unique grace of the Divine Entity. From that source, human beings transform those sounds into melodies, realizing them through various streams of Shruti, Ghazal, and music, offering them in praise of the Supreme Being as an exquisite harmony to embrace the Ultimate Truth.
In the same way, music can reflect the inner thoughts and emotions of the human mind—creating an eternal bond of joy between nature, individuals, and the collective whole, which is entirely complete and perfect from a divine perspective. All musical nuances are bound within the notes of 'Sa-Re-Ga-Ma'. The terminology used for these notes may vary across the world, but the morning melody of music is undoubtedly a luminous realm of the Ultimate Truth. However, its true benchmark is determined through pure expression and sacred illumination.
At times, according to the audience's taste, a lyricist may portray darker or chaotic themes, a composer sets the melody, and an artist breathes life into the song with all their emotion. Yet, the listener perceives the music according to their own spiritual or mental appetite. From this interplay, most music achieves universal renown, and its standard transcends religious, cultural, and national boundaries to connect with global values. This is indeed a manifestation of the infinite expressions of the One and Supreme Entity. The magical harmony that enables humanity to master and unify these notes represents the complete purity of music—a truth that cannot be denied.
I believe that regardless of religious or national cultural traditions, music has the power to unite everyone. Even if human emotions manifest in different reflections, music—transcending boundaries and languages—serves as a benchmark of peace and nourishment for the mind. I truly believe this to be an eternal bond with the One and Only Supreme Entity. Through pure musical expressions, all individual souls can harmonize and connect with the Supreme Soul (Paramatma). This concept is articulated through different perspectives across various faiths, where music's message plays an illuminating role within diverse cultural blends across the world.
Music's melodious harmony is a divine gift of the Ultimate Truth; it has not only nourished the human mind and created devotional reverence, but has also united humanity under different ideals throughout history. In various ways, patriotism expressed through music has brought people together with a healthy consciousness—truly a global blessing within His creation. While we can all produce basic sounds or words, we cannot create the profound emotional depth of a musical melody by mere willpower alone; it is undeniably divine.
From this realization, an individual can offer prayers according to their own inner calling to the Supreme Truth and the One Entity (who is called by many names)—prayers that genuinely fulfill their spiritual aspirations. Just as we sustain our lives through the imperceptible flow of air, so too can music serve as an infinite expression of devotion in quiet spiritual practice—where the Supreme Being manifests His singular sound through various notes.
According to Sanatana Dharma philosophy, the 'Om' (ॐ) sound is believed to be the primordial sound of creation, from which Truth Himself fashioned the universe. Though we may not possess the empirical ability to prove this, the divine contemplation regarding sound and its vibrations has existed within theological narratives since the dawn of humanity.
Although the sound 'Om' generates vibration, no sound wave is ever destroyed in the universe—which reflects the very framework of divine thought. Here, melody and listening serve as unique offerings of prayer across different times. In my view, this represents the divine philosophy of infinite paths and doctrines, which woven like a single thread into a garland, forms a unified high-speed wave where 'Truth is One, though the wise call It by many names.'
What exists as the unseen, unstruck sound (Anahata Nada) of the Cosmic Dancer Nataraja is precisely what manifests in the visible creation of Lord Nataraja. God is omnipresent, whose subtle vibrations and sounds can be experienced in deep silence—just as a visible river merges into the heart of nature to form an invisible wave of melody.
Within this framework, Lord Nataraja Himself exists as the entity between form (Sakar) and formlessness (Nirakar), appearing as the sacred Jyotirlinga to build creation. Through the waves of sound generated by His divine Veena, Nataraja infused melody into creation. Recognizing this subtle harmony existing within nature and living beings, humanity synthesized music bound by 'Sa-Re-Ga-Ma'. Though expression may differ by language, music conveys rhythm, tempo, listening, and single-minded devotion. Nataraja realized that pure musical thought creates a auspicious awakening in the human mind, allowing devotion to express itself through waves of divine love.
From a scientific viewpoint as well, the purity of musical vibrations alleviates human fatigue and exhaustion, awakening a state of mental clarity. The depth of music in human life is tied to legends like Tansen, whose ragas harmonized with the rhythms of rain and fire. Yet, within Nataraja’s primordial sound 'Om' and the natural vibrations of creation, a balance of rhythm and tempo was established, making sound waves sweet and audible through our human voice—a voice within which the divine memory of Goddess Saraswati resides through pure expression.
Thus, devotion and love align according to each individual's spiritual needs and aesthetic sensibilities. Music is a vast realm of thought that dispels inner void. In this synthesis, it can be said: "Shambhu dances within the vessel of the inner self." From this philosophy, the 'Om' of truth addresses God in the form of Shiva's divine light (Shivajyoti). For He is Truth, He is One, and He is the luminous embodiment of love and wisdom. The vibration of that thought purifies our minds, removes exhaustion, and calms inner restlessness like the natural surge of river waves. I believe that though the forms, sounds, and movements of musical streams may differ, their melody, rhythm, tempo, and harmony reside within the same singular wave.
In deep devotion, I humbly offer this prayer:
"Lord, forgive those who light the sacred lamp, yet do not believe You exist."
Awaken from that consciousness and grant forgiveness, O Supreme Lord, where You are Truth, Unrivaled, and Eternal Unity—competing with no other wave of energy. You abide as the faithful holder of all creation existing within Your cosmic vibration. Just as the harmony of sound waves is inherent in all living beings across nature, You reside within the pure expressions of musical waves—a thought reflecting the infinite perspectives of spiritual doctrine.

সত্যি কথা বলতে, পরম অস্তিত্ব তাঁর সৃষ্টিতত্ত্বের সমস্ত প্রাণীর মাঝে স্বরধ্বনি প্রকাশ করলেও, কিছু কিছু প্রাণের মাঝে সুরের মূর্ছনা ছড়িয়ে দিয়েছেন—যা সত্যিকার অর্থেই ঐশ্বরিক সত্তার এক অনন্য কৃপা। সেখান থেকে সেই ধ্বনিকে মানুষ সুরে রূপান্তরিত করে শ্রুতি, গজল ও সংগীতের নানা স্রোতে উপলব্ধি করতে পারে, নিবেদন করতে পারে পরম অস্তিত্বের বন্দনায় পরম সত্যকে আলিঙ্গন করার এক অপূর্ব মূর্ছনা।
আবার একইভাবে তা প্রকাশ করতে পারে মানুষের মনের ভাবধারা ও আবেগের প্রতিচ্ছবি—যা প্রকৃতি থেকে ব্যক্তি ও সমষ্টির অনন্ত এক ভালোলাগার বন্ধন তৈরি করে; যা ঐশ্বরিক দিক থেকে সম্পূর্ণ ও পূর্ণাঙ্গ। সংগীতের সকল শ্রুতি 'সা-রে-গা-মা' সুরে বাঁধা। পৃথিবীতে শব্দচয়নের জন্য এই নামগুলো ভিন্ন ভিন্ন হতে পারে, কিন্তু সংগীতের ভোরের সুরের মূর্ছনা যে পরম সত্যের এক উজ্জ্বল ভাবালোক—তা নিঃসন্দেহে বলা যায়। তবে অবশ্যই সংগীতের শুদ্ধ চয়ন ও পবিত্র আলো দিয়েই নির্ধারিত হয় তার প্রকৃত মানদণ্ড।
অনেক সময় শ্রোতার রুচি অনুযায়ী গীতিকার তাঁর লেখনীতে অসুরের ভাব ধরেন, সুরকার সুর সৃষ্টি করেন এবং শিল্পী তাঁর মনের সমস্ত আবেগ-অনুভূতি দিয়ে সেই সংগীতে প্রাণ সঞ্চার করেন। কিন্তু শ্রোতা তাঁর মনের খোরাক অনুযায়ী সেই সংগীত উপলব্ধি করেন। সেখান থেকেই মূলত অধিকাংশ সংগীত সর্বজনীনভাবে প্রসিদ্ধি পায় এবং তার মানদণ্ড নির্ভর করে ধর্ম, সংস্কৃতি ও রাষ্ট্রীয় সভ্যতার সীমানা ছাড়িয়ে বিশ্বের মানদণ্ডের সাথে যুক্ত হওয়ার ওপর। এটি সত্যিকার অর্থেই এক ও অদ্বিতীয় পরম সত্তার অনন্ত প্রকাশের রূপ। যার মায়াময় মূর্ছনায় মানুষ এই সুরকে আয়ত্ত করে একত্রিত করতে পেরেছে—সেটাই সংগীতের পূর্ণাঙ্গ বিশুদ্ধতা; যা অস্বীকার করার কোনো উপায় নেই।
আমি মনে করি, ধর্মীয় বা দেশীয় সংস্কৃতির ভাবধারা যাই হোক না কেন, সংগীত সবাইকে সবার সাথে সম্পৃক্ত করতে পারে। মানুষের মনের আবেগ ভিন্ন ভিন্ন প্রতিচ্ছবি হয়ে উঠলেও, সংগীত স্থানান্তরে ও ভাষার লোকান্তরে মানুষের মনের শান্তির মানদণ্ড ও খোরাক হতে পারে—যাকে আমি সত্যিই এক ও অদ্বিতীয় সত্তার পরম বন্ধন বলে বিশ্বাস করি। যেখান থেকে নিঃসন্দেহে পরিচ্ছন্ন ভাবধারার সুর ও সংগীতের মূর্ছনা সমস্ত আত্মাকে একত্রিত করে পরমাত্মার সাথে সম্পৃক্ত করতে পারে—যা অবশ্যই ভিন্ন ভিন্ন ধর্মের ভিন্ন ভিন্ন মানদণ্ডে উল্লেখ করা হয়েছে ভিন্ন ভিন্ন ভাবধারায়, এবং ভিন্ন ভিন্ন সংস্কৃতির ভিন্ন ভিন্ন সংমিশ্রণে সেই সংগীতের বার্তা আলোকোজ্জ্বল ভূমিকা পালন করে যা পৃথিবীতে বিদ্যমান।
যেখান থেকে সংগীতের সুরের মূর্ছনা পরম সত্যের অপূর্ব দান; তা শুধু মানবসভ্যতার মানুষের মনের খোরাক আর ভক্তির মূর্ছনাই সৃষ্টি করেনি, করেছে বিভিন্ন সময় মানুষকে বিভিন্ন ভাবধারায় ঐক্যবদ্ধ। যেখান থেকে দেশপ্রেমের চেতনা ভিন্ন ভিন্নভাবে সংগীতের ভাবধারায় মানুষকে সুস্থ মানদণ্ডে ঐক্যবদ্ধ করেছে—যা সত্যিকার অর্থেই পরম অস্তিত্বের তাঁর সৃষ্টিতত্ত্বের মাঝে এক বৈশ্বিক দান। যেখান থেকে আমরা সবাই ধ্বনি বা শব্দ তৈরি করতে পারলেও, সংগীতের সুরের মূর্ছনার সেই আবেগ নিজের ইচ্ছায় তৈরি করতে পারি না—যা নিঃসন্দেহে ঐশ্বরিক।
সেখান থেকে অবশ্যই একজন ব্যক্তি তার মানদণ্ডের চাহিদা অনুযায়ী পরম সত্য ও এক-অদ্বিতীয় সত্তার কাছে (যাঁকে বহু নামে ডাকা হয়) তাঁর প্রার্থনা করতে পারে; যা সত্যিকার অর্থেই তার মানদণ্ড ও মনের প্রার্থনা পূরণ করতে পারে। যেভাবে বায়ুর সংস্পর্শে অলক্ষ্য গতিতে আমরা বেঁচে আছি, তেমনিভাবে সংগীতের মূর্ছনায় অলক্ষ্য সাধনায় ভক্তির এক অনন্ত প্রকাশ হতে পারে—যেখান থেকে তিনি এক ও অদ্বিতীয় রূপের শব্দধ্বনি ভিন্ন ভিন্ন স্বরে প্রকাশ করছেন।
প্রকৃতপক্ষে সনাতন ধর্মীয় তত্ত্ব অনুসারে বিশ্বাস করা হয়, 'ওঁ' (ॐ) ধ্বনিই সেই সৃষ্টিতত্ত্বের মূল ধ্বনি, যা থেকে স্বয়ং সত্য এই সৃষ্টিতত্ত্ব নির্মাণ করেছেন। সেখানে অবশ্যই তা প্রমাণ করার সক্ষমতা আমি বা আমরা রাখি না, তবে সেই ধর্মীয় তত্ত্ব অনুসারে শব্দ ও তার স্পন্দন নিয়ে মানুষের যে ঐশ্বরিক চিন্তা, তা মানুষ পৃথিবীতে প্রেরণের সময় থেকেই ধর্মতত্ত্বের কাহিনীর মাঝে বিদ্যমান।
শব্দধ্বনি 'ওঁ' স্পন্দন তৈরি করলেও কোনো শব্দধ্বনিই মহাবিশ্বে বিলুপ্ত হয় না—যা ঐশ্বরিক ভাবনারই এক রূপরেখা। যেখানে সুর ও শ্রুতি ভিন্ন ভিন্ন সময়ে প্রার্থনার এক অনন্য নিবেদন। আমার মতে, যা অনন্ত পথ ও অনন্ত মতবাদের ঐশ্বরিক চিন্তা—যা সবই বেণি সুতার মালার মতো একটি একক দ্রুত তরঙ্গ তৈরি করে; যেখানে 'সত্য এক ও অদ্বিতীয়, জ্ঞানীরা তাকে বহু নামে ডাকেন।'
এখানে নিশ্চিত রূপেই যা অদৃশ্য নটরাজের অনাহত নটধ্বনি, তাই হলো দৃশ্যমান নটরাজের প্রকাশিত সৃষ্টিরূপ। ঈশ্বর সর্বত্রই বিরাজমান, যাঁর সমস্ত স্পন্দন ও ধ্বনিকে গভীর নিস্তব্ধতায় উপলব্ধি করা যায়—ঠিক যেভাবে দৃশ্যমান নদী প্রকৃতির বুকে মিলিয়ে গিয়ে এক অদৃশ্য সুরতরঙ্গ তৈরি করে।
যার মাঝে স্বয়ং পরমেশ্বর নটরাজ অদৃশ্য রূপে সাকার ও নিরাকারের মধ্যবর্তী সত্তা—পবিত্র 'জ্যোতির্লিঙ্গ' রূপে আবির্ভূত হয়ে সৃষ্টিতত্ত্ব নির্মাণ করেছেন বলে সনাতন ধর্মীয় বিশ্বাস রয়েছে। সেখানে সৃষ্টিতত্ত্বের স্বর প্রদান করে সুরের যে তরঙ্গ বীণার ঝংকারে নটরাজ তৈরি করেছেন, মানুষের মনের ভেতরের তরঙ্গের সুর থেকে প্রকৃতির সমস্ত প্রাণীর অস্তিত্ব সুরের মধ্যে—সেই সুরের বন্ধন ও সূক্ষ্মতা মানুষ উপলব্ধি করে যে সংগীতের সমন্বয় করেছে, তা সমগ্র বিশ্বে 'সা-রে-গা-মা' সুরে বাঁধা রয়েছে। সেখানে ভাষাগত কারণে সেই ধরন ভিন্ন হতে পারে, কিন্তু সংগীতের তাল, লয়, শ্রুতি ও একাগ্রতা প্রকাশ করে—যেখানে সৃষ্টিতত্ত্বের তরঙ্গেতে নটরাজ উপলব্ধি করেছিলেন সংগীতের বিশুদ্ধ ভাবনা মানুষের মনের মানদণ্ডের শুভ ভাবোদয়ের উদয় তৈরি করে প্রেম তরঙ্গের মাধ্যমে ভক্তিভাব প্রকাশ করা সম্ভব।
সেখান থেকেই তরঙ্গের ধ্বনি ও সংগীতের বিশুদ্ধতা বৈজ্ঞানিক দৃষ্টিতেও মানুষের ক্লান্তি-অবসাদ দূর করে মনের বিশুদ্ধ ভাবনার চেতনার জাগরণ ঘটায়। যে সংগীতের ব্যাখ্যা মানবজীবনে তানসেনের সাথে জড়িয়ে রয়েছে, যা বৃষ্টির ছন্দ ও অগ্নিধারার সাথে সামঞ্জস্যপূর্ণ। কিন্তু নটরাজের সেই ধ্বনি 'ওঁ' ও তরঙ্গ সৃষ্টিতত্ত্বের প্রকৃতির যে ধ্বনি তৈরি হয়, তার মধ্যে সেই তাল-লয়ের স্থিতি বিদ্যমান করে শব্দতরঙ্গকে সুমধুর করে শ্রবণযোগ্য তৈরি করেছে আমাদের কণ্ঠস্বরের মাধ্যমে—যে কণ্ঠস্বরের প্রত্যেক প্রাণের অস্তিত্বের মধ্যেই পরব্রহ্ম সরস্বতীর দৈবিক স্মৃতি বাস করে বিশুদ্ধতার চয়নের মাধ্যমে।
সেখান থেকেই প্রত্যেক ব্যক্তির মনের চাহিদা অনুযায়ী এবং রুচিশীলতার মানদণ্ড অনুযায়ী ভক্তি ও প্রেমের সমন্বয় ঘটে। মনের অস্তিত্বহীনতা দূর করতে সংগীত এক অপরিসীম ভাবনা, আর সেই ভাবনার সংমিশ্রণে এটুকুই বলতে পারি—“ঘরে যে কুম্ভ নাচি আছে শম্ভু”, সেই ভাবধারা থেকেই 'ওঁ' সত্যের সেই শিবজ্যোতির ঈশ্বরকেই সম্বোধন করা হয়। কারণ তিনিই সত্য, তিনি অদ্বিতীয়, তিনি প্রেম ও প্রজ্ঞার আলোকোজ্জ্বল ভাবনা। সেই ভাবনার তরঙ্গই আমাদের মনে বিশুদ্ধতা তৈরি করে, ক্লান্তিভাব দূর করে, মনের আনন্দস্রোতে নিত্য তরঙ্গের বৃষ্টির ছন্দের নদীর ঢেউয়ের প্রকৃতির উচ্ছ্বাসের মতো মনের ব্যাকুলতাকে দূর করে—আমার বিশ্বাস, যা সংগীতের স্রোতধারার তরঙ্গ শব্দ ও গতির ভাবনা ভিন্ন ভিন্ন হলেও তার সুর, তাল, লয় ও ছন্দ একই তরঙ্গে বিদ্যমান হয়।
সেখান থেকে অবশ্যই ভক্তিভাবনায় এটুকু বলতে পারি:
“মঙ্গলদীপ জ্বেলে তবু যারা বিশ্বাস করে নাকো তুমি আছো, তাদের মার্জনা করো প্রভু।”
সেই ভাবধারা থেকেই তুমি জাগ্রত হয়ে ক্ষমা করো, যেখানে তুমি সত্য ও অদ্বিতীয় এবং চিরন্তন একত্ব—যা কখনোই কোনো তরঙ্গশক্তির সাথে প্রতিযোগিতা করে না; শুধু তোমার তরঙ্গের মধ্যে যে সৃষ্টির অস্তিত্ব রয়েছে, তার মধ্যেই তুমি বিশ্বস্ততার ধারক হয়ে রয়েছ। যেমনভাবে প্রকৃতিতে শব্দতরঙ্গের সুরমূর্ছনা প্রাণীসত্তার মধ্যে নিহিত, তেমনিভাবে সংগীত তরঙ্গের বিশুদ্ধ শব্দচয়নেও তুমি নিহিত রয়েছ, যার ধর্মীয় তত্ত্বের অনন্ত মতের অনন্ত ভাবনা।
