Have you been following the Dan & Marcie Show - Heart FM Mornings page and placing your votes in the french Fry Showdown? They are looking for the best non-franchised french fries in Oxford County. August 14th is our day, so make sure you comment on the Dan & Marcie Show - Heart FM Mornings page, not ours and tell them Mel’s Fish & Chips has the best french fries in Oxford County, I may be a bit biased, but I think they are. If we make it through that round, we will move onto the next round. Stay tuned, and be sure to vote on August 14.

It’s time, our annual summer vacation is upon us, so far the weather has been great. We will re-open on Wednesday August 12, 2026 at 11:30 a.m.. By the looks of some of these pictures, some were in vacation mode sooner than others.

Streetfest is up and running, lots of vendors, lots of activities, come on down and see what’s going on. Mel’s Fry Express is open and ready to serve you, come in for some fresh cut fries, poutine or try our famous newfie fries. Our regular po***ck special is on for today and tomorrow as well. The street is closed for parking, but there is plenty of parking lots around for you to utilize, and remember delivery is always an option.

StreetFest is just a few days away Friday July 17 and Saturday July 18, and it sounds like the weather will be cooperating this week, that is exciting!! We are extra excited this year to have lots of activities outside of Mel’s Fish & Chips AKA Mel’s Fry Express. Drop in for some fresh cut fries, poutine or some newfie fries, other items available as well. We will also have our weekly po***ck fish & chip special on for StreetFest.
