In celebration of International Women's Day, MCRC will be featuring local female entrepreneurs from our community! Today, we'd like to highlight Chef Melani Bastians, owner of The Green Eatery and NOGH No One Goes Hungry

Chef Melani’s entrepreneurial spirit was originally inspired by her parents and today, raising her 5 daughters keeps her both inspired and energized. She always dreamed of owning restaurant brands and now runs multiple businesses, one of which transforms rescued food into healthy balanced meals for communities in need.

While the COVID-19 pandemic posed many challenges for small businesses, Chef Melani likes to use challenges as a learning experience or an opportunity for change and strongly believes that barriers are meant to be broken. Chef Melani loves working in Milton and finds owning a business in Milton rewarding thanks to the community and their support. Thanks Chef Melani for providing the Milton community with delicious, healthy food and working to ensure that no one goes hungry.
