Our Northern store in Pangnirtung, NU, became the first in our network to receive a sealift delivery this season!

With the help of store staff and community members, 23 sea cans and 21 large crates of merchandise were unloaded over the span of two days. Thanks to a whole lot of team effort, they sorted and carefully organized around 230 pallets of products, getting new items ready for purchase for our customers.

For northern communities, the arrival of sealift signals greater product variety, more shelf-stable items, and more competitive pricing. This is our northern supply chain in action, powered by teamwork, planning, and commitment to ensuring northern families have access to the products they need when they need it!

It’s back-to-school season, and our RiteWay & Cost.U.Less teams are busy ensuring young learners start the year off with the supplies they need.

In early August, Cost.U.Less Grand Cayman partnered with Caribbean Alliance to support the local Stuff the Bus initiative, marking the store’s eighth year of participation. Through school supplies purchased and donated by customers, along with funds contributed by vendors, our team prepared 100 bags with learning essentials for distribution to students who needed a little extra support.

Meanwhile our Rite Way Food Markets staff distributed school backpacks filled with essential school supplies to 100 preschoolers in the British Virgin Islands, helping build excitement for the start of a new academic year.

Across our markets, we’re proud to see our teams come together with partners and customers to make impactful initiatives like these possible.

Last week, North West participated in St. Theresa Point Anisininew Nation's 4th Annual Fundraising Golf Tournament in support of the community's Youth Council.

Northy from our Healthy Horizons Foundation made a special appearance at the St. Boniface Golf Club, celebrating its ongoing relationship with the community and the success of the Northy Club, which has been running in STP since 2024.

Despite the rain, the event brought the community and Youth Council together to celebrate and support opportunities for local youth, and we were proud to be a part of it.

Cost.U.Less Hagåtña is Officially Open!

After months of planning and coordination, our new Cost.U.Less flagship store in Hagåtña, Guam, officially opened its doors on Aug. 28, 2026. The new store offers customers an expanded selection of fresh groceries, household essentials, and general merchandise, along with the convenience and value they have come to expect from the brand.

The North West Company is proud to continue supporting the National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation (NCTR) and its important work to advance truth and reconciliation across Canada.

Through our partnership with Dreamcatcher Promotions, “Every Child Matters” orange shirts are available at our stores across northern Canada. Proceeds from these sales help support the NCTR’s programs and initiatives.

This year, we were proud to present $25,000 to the NCTR from proceeds raised through 2025/26 orange shirt sales.

Before we head into the fall, let's take a moment to celebrate some highlights from this summer at North West!

From weekly walking groups to shared sweet treats just because, Nor'Westers made the most of the past few months by spending time together, building team spirit, staying active, and taking every opportunity to soak up the sunshine.

Our fun this summer also made an impact, thanks to everyone who supported the Healthy Horizons Foundation through raffles and fundraisers at our backyard barbecue and summer carnival.

For more than 20 years, The North West Company has been proud to support the Norway House Cree Nation Treaty and York Boat Days celebration.

This year, we contributed $40,000 to help bring the community together in celebration of its rich culture, history, and traditions. The event offered something for everyone, including live music, talent shows, sporting events, and the iconic championship men's and women's York Boat races.

One of the highlights for our team was the Elders Giveaway. This year, we donated 600 food hampers, helping strengthen community connections through meaningful support and gratitude.

We're honoured to be part of this longstanding tradition and are already looking forward to next year's Treaty and York Boat Days! 😊🛶

We were pleased to join the people of Sachigo Lake First Nation in celebrating their community’s 50th anniversary this summer!

The Sachigo Lake Northern store proudly contributed $10,000 to the anniversary celebration, helping honour the rich history and culture of the community. The gathering brought together residents, community leaders, and visitors from neighboring communities for a week of social events and fun activities for all ages.
