You may have seen that a guest of ours recently posted a video on Facebook, stating that we ignored them and refused to serve them due to their race. Unfortunately, we live in a time when people will believe anything just because someone says it.
While we try to stay out of this kind of drama, we also feel the need to defend ourselves. We have reviewed our security camera footage during the time the person was in the restaurant and found their claims to be untrue. Was our service perfect? No. But was the guest ignored? Not at all.
His order was taken within 17 minutes of him entering our establishment. The guest said that a table walked in after him and we took their order while ignoring him. The truth is that they walked in a minute after the guest's order was already taken. The new table's order was taken seven minutes later, and two minutes after that, the guest who is making these allegations walked out the door.
We apologize for the slow service and admit to not being perfect. Unfortunately, a small handful of people walked in at once, which can be overwhelming for one server, considering they have to hand out menus, make drinks, take food orders, etc. It's not an excuse, but simply what happened.
We've gone over this situation with our employee and discussed more efficient ways of doing things. But, once again, this had nothing to do with the guest's race. We would welcome the guest back anytime should they wish to give us another chance to show them that all are welcome at Tipsy Cow.
