What a weekend… and what a community. ❤️

This past weekend, Roughage Eatery had the absolute honour of serving the Beyoncé Drag Brunch at alongside the incredible performers .artemyst — while also running our booth at the

It was busy.
It was exciting.
And then… it got very real.

During the market, Candice suddenly wasn’t feeling well and was taken away by ambulance. Chef Jessie had to leave the already packed brunch to rush to be by her side.

And that’s when something incredible happened…

Our friends stepped in.
They took control of our booth.
They served a fierce brunch.
They sold food.
They reassured customers.
They kept Roughage going.

We sold out of almost everything…
(We literally finished with just two pieces of cheeze left 🧀)

A very special thank you

To August — who helped Candice, made the 911 call, and stayed calm in a stressful moment — we cannot thank you enough. You truly made a difference.

To our amazing friends who jumped in without hesitation — you carried us when we couldn’t be there.

To our customers who were patient, kind, and concerned — thank you for your compassion, especially those who saw Candice being taken away.
