🍁​We are thrilled to be participating in the Yukon Farm Fair for the very first time this Saturday, September 5th!

​Come join us to celebrate the fall harvest, honor local Yukon agriculture, and enjoy a day where the community grows together. We will be parked at the wagon serving up hot, farm-to-table meals made fresh with our farm-harvested produce.

When the fireweed blossoms reach the very top of their stalks, it signals the shift in the season and the start of our autumn harvest🥔🥕

​It is always a bittersweet time as we wind things down, like saying goodbye to our sugar snap peas🫛 this week due to the recent cold damage. But as one harvest ends, another begins! We still have our LAST zucchini 🥒of the season available, along with lots of sweet, crisp fall harvest carrots 🥕

On August 28th, we hit our 3rd frost of the season at the farm, and it was a cold one! It dipped down to -3°C in the early morning, making it our coldest morning so far.🥶

​Right after market day, we made sure to put row covers over all our vegetables to keep them tucked in tight. The great news is that most of our crops survived the freeze🌿💪

​The only ones feeling a bit sad are our zucchinis. Even though they’re tucked in cold frames by the greenhouse under double row covers, they still caught a bit of frost damage from the chill.

As the cold nights settle in, our harvests are starting to slow down, meaning we'll have smaller quantities of produce at both the Fireweed Community Market and our roadside stand at the Carcross Cutoff. Make sure to come early if you're looking for fresh veggies, and thank you all for supporting local northern farming every step of the season! 💚

We’ll be at the Fireweed Market today from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM!
​It’s definitely getting chilly out there! With the cooler temperatures, our tomatoes, zucchini, and sugar snap peas are taking longer to ripen, so we have limited quantities of those today.
