🎉 JOIN US IN CELEBRATING ANISH! 🎉

Anish got the job at Loblaws Pickering Market — and we could not be more excited for him. ❤️

One of Anish’s goals has been to work on cash, and he has worked incredibly hard at Melly’s to build the skills and confidence to make that happen. He’s practiced talking with customers, communicating clearly, and recording information accurately and efficiently — and all of that hard work has paid off.

And one of our favourite parts of this story? Anish showed up to his interview at Loblaws in a suit, walked into that interview on his own, represented himself, and got the job on his own. 👏

That’s what this is all about.

Anish put in the work. He built the skills. He built the confidence. And when the opportunity came, he was ready.

A huge thank you to Loblaws Pickering Market for continuing to open doors, hire inclusively, and recognize the talent and potential of people with disabilities.

🎉 Charlie got a job! 🎉

We’re so excited to share that Charlie is taking his next big step — but we’ll let him tell you, in his own words, all about his new job and what he’ll be doing!

We couldn’t be more excited to see Charlie move into independent employment in the community. While we’re definitely going to miss having him around Melly’s, this is exactly what all of the hard work has been leading toward. 💛

What a summer! ☀️🎓

Today is graduation day for our Port Hope summer students! Over the past few months, they’ve learned valuable workplace skills, built independence and confidence, created new friendships, and most of all, had so much fun along the way!

As we come to the end of summer, we want to take a moment to recognize our amazing summer coaches who have made this summer extra special!

Every Melly’s coach completes a coaching training program before joining our team, where they practice 400+ activities, learn about available tools and resources, and build the skills needed to individualize lessons for each teen.

This summer, our coaches brought so much energy and excitement to every lesson. They became role models, encouraged our teens, and helped set the expectations and build the skills our teens need to leave the summer feeling ready for the workforce.

Thank you to all of our incredible summer coaches for making this summer one to remember!
