They say “the secret, Alice, is to surround yourself with people who make your heart smile.” After spending this week creating for Kara’s 1st Birthday, my heart isn’t just smiling—it’s full. Melissa and Nicholas thank you for commissioning me to be a tiny part of this milestone. Entrusting a baker with a first birthday is like handing over a piece of your heart, and I don’t take that responsibility lightly.

I’ll admit, I nearly fell down a rabbit hole myself trying to get that teacup to defy gravity! There may have been a few “we’re all mad here” moments in my kitchen at 2 AM, but seeing the final result made every sprinkle worth it. ☕️🧁

As I’m piping each flower I couldn’t help but think about the significance of the 1st birthday. It’s not just about the cake or the decorations, it’s a celebration of a whole year of “firsts” for the parents, too. A year of sleepless nights, brand-new love, and watching a tiny person begin to bloom into exactly who they are meant to be. You’ve spent 365 days nurturing your little flower, and seeing her celebrate in her own “ONE-derland” is such a beautiful testament to the home you’ve built for her. 🌹✨

Huge thank you to Sherrise for trusting me with this cake for her sweet little boy’s 2nd birthday 🦕💚. Two years old — where everything is wonder, curiosity, and big feelings in little bodies.
