The little bakery that could.
As I walk up to my little bakery located in the Central Frederick neighbourhood that I call home, I am so grateful for its survival. We continue to make all our baked goods from scratch using butter despite the rising costs of goods. We continue to support other local producers by having a large local provisions section. We continue to be a gathering place for the community by serving beverages and pastries with cosy seating inside. The mission of our bakery has never changed despite the challenges. As we approach 2023 we do it with hope and lots of determination and with the support of you. Our customer.

When I started Steeped Tea, now Sipology 16 years ago, I imagined creating a community of like-minded people just like me.

People who loved to have fun, people willing to take risks, people who could roll with the punches and never give up.

People who understood that building a business and being a part of a business is a lot of trial and error.⁠

Here we are 16 years later, and all the hard work, effort and continuous learning has paid off big time. Everyone at Sipology was over the moon proud last year when Ernst and Young recognized our community by giving us a special citation award just for us!⁠

Has it been easy along the way to create this community? Hell no. Have people turned on the community we worked so hard to create when I (we) needed them most? 100%⁠

But I never ever gave up on the people who held on strong to the vision I had many moons ago, and for that I am eternally grateful.⁠

I can’t imagine any award being more impactful at this moment in time than a community award.⁠

Way to go everyone!⁠

On Wednesdays we talk...

Proud is an understatement for how I feel about the Sipology community, which continues to amaze me with their dedication to sharing our magical fruit teas with their customers and raising money for Kids Help Phone and Crisis Text Line.

This year they raised over $60k !!

Incredible!

This donation helps support more and more people on the phone and through texts who are having mental health challenges.

We're going to double it this year!
