🌟 Welcome to the Board, Sadia Mundh! 🌟

519 Community Collective is absolutely delighted to officially welcome Sadia Mundh as one of the newest members of our Board of Directors! 🎉

Although this is a new chapter in her journey with us, Sadia is far from new to the 519 family. She has been a cherished and dedicated part of our volunteer community for years—consistently showing up with kindness, compassion, and a willingness to help wherever it’s needed.

Sadia is known to many of us as one of the sweetest people you’ll ever meet. Her heart for service is truly unmatched, and her presence in our organization has already made a lasting impact. Whether she’s supporting the Nourish Fridge initiative, helping at the Kitchener Market, or assisting with food pickups from Faire, Sadia brings a quiet strength and humble dedication that lifts everyone around her.

Originally from Pakistan, Sadia moved to Canada 14 years ago and has made volunteerism a cornerstone of her life. She first found 519 through Facebook—just like many in our community—and wasted no time getting involved in any way she could. Now, as a Board Member, she brings her lived experience, cultural insight, and tireless commitment to equity and service to our leadership table.

💬 From Sadia:

"My name is Sadia Mundh. I am originally from Pakistan and moved to Canada 14 years ago. I love to volunteer and make that a priority in my life. I found 519 on Facebook like most people and became involved in as many things as I could. I’m still active with the Nourish Fridge, the Kitchener Market, and the Faire food pickups. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or concerns. I look forward to hearing from you!"

Please join us in giving Sadia a heartfelt 519 welcome and celebrating this exciting next step in her journey with us. We are truly lucky to have her leadership, voice, and heart on our growing board.

📧 You can connect with Sadia by reaching out through our contact page or at upcoming community events!

🌟 Welcome to the Team, Denise Coleman! 🌟

The 519 Community Collective is thrilled to officially welcome Denise Coleman as our brand-new Little Free Pantry Coordinator! 🎉

Denise brings a fresh, creative energy to our growing team, and we are beyond excited to have her lead one of our most meaningful grassroots initiatives. Not only is she a dedicated advocate for low-barrier food access, but she also hosts two of our Little Free Pantry locations, including the very first in Waterloo at her home on Lincoln Road and a second at her workplace on Noecker Street.

Denise is a Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) with a strong belief in fostering belonging and well-being in young children. Her involvement in the Pantry Project has beautifully woven into her professional life, with her students helping to paint and stock the pantry—turning it into a tangible, community-building experience.

Denise and her partner have called Waterloo Region home since 1998, where they’ve raised their three children. Outside of her community work, Denise enjoys camping, running, knitting, crocheting, and local pub trivia nights. She's also a proud supporter of the arts and a regular volunteer at local running events and in the theatre scene.

Her passion for accessibility, kindness, and connection mirrors the very essence of the Little Free Pantry Project—a low-barrier, neighbourhood-based source of non-perishable items for anyone who needs them, and an equally accessible way for people to give back.

Please join us in giving Denise a warm 519 welcome! 💙 You can reach her at [email protected] to connect or get involved.

Meet our new board secretary Valerie Barclay .

She is such an amazing woman and we are blessed to have her on board.

" I have been volunteering with 519 Community Collective since 2022 in various Hands-On roles like camper delivery and other behind the scenes work like delivering the online volunteer management tool sign up to help make it easier for volunteers to sign up to help when it fits into their schedule and to help program coordinators to manage their volunteer schedules.

As a business owner and entrepreneur I have relied on my business consulting and project management expertise to start up and manage three businesses. I will bring project management as well as process improvements and tools to the team to help make the administration of the programs easier so that the focus can remain on the current and future needs of the community.

I strongly believe in the good that 519 Community Collective is doing in our community we are a collective of neighbors helping neighbors in need and we come from a place of kindness compassion and inclusivity. "

We can't wait to work together on our team.
