The Pilgrim Coffee House Page will continue, but I imagine it will have a different look. I won’t be providing the content any longer, as the cafe is under new ownership.
John Krottner and are old friends, and I have managed his Fb page for him a long time. For quite a while, it was pictures of Latte’s and the great fresh baking, and sandwiches. Then came the realization, how many different perspectives of a bumble berry crumble can you shoot. So then it became digital photos and thought provoking quotes. We figured if you were drinking the best coffee on the Westshore, you might enjoy something to think about while you savour the taste your coffee.
The Fb page, like Pilgrim Coffee House has always tried to be a place of welcoming inclusivity…kindness, respect and compassion.
And none of that will change, the new owners want a “ Pilgrim Coffee House “, they want all the ingredients the same, learning all the recipes everyone loves. Plus, they are learning from the best cafe owners around.

Without a doubt the Krottner’s built a very special place, more than baking, more than the coffee… it was that feeling. Relaxing, chill, you could feel the love.

Life is a journey, and not all who wander are lost. Thirteen years ago John took off his butchers apron, only to put on a barista’s apron. Maybe from spending most days in a cooler, maybe that gave him a passion for hot coffee. With that, John and Jan opened, “ Pilgrim Coffee House.” Soon after our daughter Teresa, joined mom and Dad making Pilgrim Coffee House one of Westshore’s best coffee shops. A dream, a passion a love for community. So they moved from Sidney to the Westshore. Fighting the odds that most cafe’s usually fail. We have always tried to make customers feel welcome, and have that same atmosphere throughout the cafe, of course with the aroma of great coffee. We also understood the importance of fresh baking made in house. We opened our doors and people came, singles, couples, different groups at all times of the day. A kind of community started to develop, you know. The regulars. Its the little conversations, the sound bytes while coffee is being made. It’s cleaning tables mores short chit chats. Thirteen years of that. Wow! You supported through all the craziness that Covid was. And after, more people continued to wander into Pilgrim Coffee House, remember all who wander are not lost. Truth be, they’re just searching for great coffee and a place where your made to feel at home. We have so many memories of our Journey here at Pilgrim Coffee House. Now John and Jan are ready to wander again, dreams, places and coffee, lots of coffee. Naming people, you just know you’re going to forget someone. So we’ll thank all you. We hope you enjoyed your experience.
