No words could represent this moment exactly.
For the past 2 weeks, old customers came from Vancouver, upper island ( Campbell River, Comox Valley ), mid island (Lady-smith, Duncan), Mill Bay, Langford, North Saanich… for their last plate at this location.
We heard a lot of touching memories, they have been here, 10 years, 20 years, 30 years, 40 years, 50 years, the longest 70 years ago. A couple engaged at the restaurant 50 years ago, they came to the restaurant and sat at the same table to have a meal before the restaurant closes. Grandparents now, met each other at the restaurant and married…
Old friends, family members hang out at our restaurant again, they looked at old pictures of their moms, who brought them to the restaurant often, talked about the things 30, 40, 50 years ago, “when I was boy, my dad brought our family here every weekend; when I was a teenager, I danced upstairs, after the class, I always came here to hangout with my friends; I worked across the corner, always order a fries to go wrapped with newspaper etc.
We would want to say another thank you for all. Thank you for coming again, thank you for your patience, thank you for your support, thank you for your understanding, thank you for all the wishes.
