Happy Canada Day, Victoria!
Today, we raise a glass to our great nation — and as always, your friendly neighbourhood pub is celebrating with a little history and a lot of gratitude.
Canada turns 159 this year… and as your 171‑year‑old friend, we’ve seen it all. We were already pouring pints when Canada was just a twinkle in Confederation’s eye. In fact, when Canada was born, we were old enough to babysit.
Canada has more lakes than every other country combined — which explains why we’re so good at chilling beer.
Our national animal is the beaver, a creature that builds community one log at a time. We respect that energy.
And yes, Canadians really do say “sorry” more than any other nation — but we’ll never apologize for great food and warm hospitality.
Together, we watched railways stitch towns together, survived world wars, Prohibition, the Great Depression, and even a global pandemic. Like a fine wine — or a well‑aged pub — we’ve only grown stronger with time.
Through every era, every challenge, and every celebration, we have supported each other. Thank you for all your support.
Happy Birthday, Canada, from your old friend — Six Mile Pub, est. 1855.
