The Story of Run A Boat 🇯🇲🍽️
Run A Boat is the Vancouver Island Caribbean Hub social enterprise pop-up food booth. That means every patty, jerk chicken, drink etc. you purchase helps support something much bigger.
The profits from Run A Boat go directly back into the Vancouver Island Caribbean Hub, helping us fund community programs, cultural events, and festivals like i-Land Fest • YYJ Carnival.
The Caribbean Hub is a non-profit organization that's always looking for ways to become more sustainable. Grants are important, but they aren't guaranteed. That's why we're working to build our own sources of revenue—so we can continue celebrating Caribbean culture and creating opportunities for our community year after year.
A special thank you to the CRD Arts and Culture for believing in this vision through their Growing Forward Grant. Their support gave us the opportunity to explore whether Run A Boat could become a viable social enterprise and test a model for long-term sustainability. We're incredibly grateful for that investment.
