We’re excited to welcome two new performers this Friday at Dandy Lion Sessions!

Tyler Johnson is a Guitarist and Songwriter based in Victoria, British Columbia. He was inspired to pick up the guitar after hearing his father’s record collection at the age of 12. Tyler’s first experience in the music scene was in 2012 in Edmonton, Alberta. Since then he has performed with multiple artists and bands as a front man and sideman. In 2022, Tyler worked as a lounge musician at the Jasper Park Lodge in Alberta for the month of June. Currently, Tyler can be seen performing in a local band (“Second Fiddle”) and as well as solo-artist in Victoria, BC.

Robbie is a singer/songwriter from Rossland, BC. After briefly studying Sciences, he attended the Selkirk College CMT program where he obtained a composition degree as a vocal major, and where he plans to return in the fall to study music production and studio recording. He is a self-taught musician who has since learned theory and further techniques, and whose music is heavily influenced by Celtic and North American folk music, with influences from Classical and Jazz elements.

We hope to see you there 🌻

Dandy Lion Sessions is back again this Friday with singer-songwriter !

“A breath of fresh air in the music world”-Independent Artist Buzz

Claire Coupland’s newest album, “New Light”, was recorded in LA last summer with Juno award winning musician Sam Weber.

This moving songwriter and compelling guitarist combines smooth finger picking, jazz influenced progressions and a pure velvet voice. Having spent the last 10 years in Toronto working/touring, we are lucky to have Claire and her songwriting talents living back on Van. Island.

After a busy summer of touring and festivals, Claire is thrilled to share her music in the intimate setting of the VEC Dandy Lion Coffee Shop. She will share songs of self worth, love, painful goodbyes, fragile family dynamics and ultimate hope and optimism in the world around her.

Join us for a great FREE show this Friday!

4 - 5 pm in VEC’s Dandy Lion Coffee Shop. Claire’s performance will be followed by an open mic.

Sam Kaiser wrote his first tune, “Old Stars”, when he was about 16, and since then, music has become a lot more than a hobby.
Sam grew up in Hong Kong but after living in Kingston, Ontario, just recently moved to Victoria. He released an EP, Different Fires during his first year of university, and then an album, Harper’s Sorrow, in the summer after second year, with a few singles interspersed between. Sam's most recent singles as well as his entire discography can be found online on all streaming platforms.

Jacob, will be presenting an acoustic punk set with varied mood and emotion. As a multi-instrumentalist and multi-media-artist, Jacob brings variety and intrigue to his performances.

See Sam and Jacob at MF Friday this week! The floor opens up to an open mic at the end of the hour!
