When they first met, they bonded over their shared love of coffee.
And before long, Dancing Goats became their “home bean.”

What’s behind Sakura? 🪭🦊

It all began with an anonymous piece of art.

The image showed a fox in the water, reflecting what looked like a beautiful woman.
It wasn’t really a woman — it was what lies beneath the surface, the essence of beauty itself.

Our head roaster saw this as the coffee’s inspiration: the true nature of Ethiopian beans is fragrant and captivating, but only if its essence is strong.

To highlight that essence, washed coffees were chosen.
They strip away distractions and reveal the coffee’s core character, pure and luminous.

The goal was simple: capture the coffee’s natural beauty and present it in a way that feels gentle, refined, and approachable.

Sakura was born from this vision — a blend that mirrors the quiet strength, elegance, and clarity of the art that inspired it.

Latte art unleashed ☄️

The De Mello x KRUVE collab started with a shared love for craft and coffee.
Together, we reimagined a latte art cup to celebrate curiosity, creativity, and the moments of joy in every pour.

Then came Toronto’s first Latte Art Fest.

Over 2,600 people joined us for live latte art, a throwdown, free tastings, a DJ, and a ramyun party to end the day 🍜✨

We can’t wait for more coffee, more fun, and more moments together.

The Latte Art Throwdown brought Origin and Creation full circle through Celebration.
From simple ingredients to intentional tools, craft came alive in every pour.
After all, we’ve all been created to create.

Thank you to our 36 incredible competitors, 4 judges, 9 partners, and everyone who came to celebrate coffee, creativity, and community.

The past and present of Toronto’s coffee community brought our x De Mello latte art cup to life, reminding us of the superpowers in every barista’s hands.
