From a once-forgotten volcanic vineyard…
A rosato made from Nerello Mascalese grown organically on the northern slope of Etna. The Tenuta Terre Nere proprietor, Marco de Grazia, originally created the wine after his young daughter declared pink to be her favourite colour, but the result is far more serious than this origin story suggests.
500,000 years of volcanic eruptions have created endless soil variation across the slopes of Mount Etna — primarily volcanic ash and lava rock — creating wines with distinctive mineral character and freshness.
This one is delicate yet energetic, with notes of wild strawberry, blood orange, peach, and Mediterranean herbs. Its bright acidity, subtle texture, and mineral finish make this a versatile food wine — pair with olives, salumi, grilled seafood, summer vegetables…and, specifically, the cappelletti with English peas, stracchino, mint, tarragon, and bronze fennel.
