Today, National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we honour the families and children impacted by, and the Survivors of, residential schools, as well as entire communities that are still deeply impacted today and every day.

Please take time to reflect, to listen, and to commit to real, lasting change in ourselves and the way we hold our government responsible for real reconciliation and progress. As well as how we show up for communities who have been harmed, and each other.

The canadian government continues to fall short on its promises to Indigenous communities. Many of the TRC’s 94 Calls to Action remain ignored, and Indigenous communities everywhere are still fighting for their basic rights clean water, justice, and sovereignty.

If any of this is not familiar to you please at the very least take today to do some reading and listening to the communities affected.

It’s with a lot of shock and sadness that we write that on Sunday, September 27th an artist building occupied by multiple Flea vendors and managed by part of the ESF team was engulfed in a large fire on E Hastings. The cause of the fire is still unknown, but thankfully nobody was inside or harmed. Unfortunately it did destroy almost all contents that were within the building, including almost all equipment and goods that multiple small businesses and artist rely on for their livelihoods. The GoFundMe link in our bio has been set up by the tenants of the building, and will be dispersed among them to recuperate losses. If you’re able to, please consider donating!
