Located at VGH in the Jim Pattison Pavilion and at UBC in the Djavad Mowafaghian Centre for Brain Health Main Lobby. Welcome to Café Ami!

We are a locally owned and operated concept born in the late 1980s from a desire to develop a “friendly” coffee house where patrons are encouraged to linger and enjoy their coffee and fresh food in a welcoming environment – a premise based on the simple fact that the coffee “experience” cannot be rushed; it is meant to be savoured and enjoyed with friends (Cafe “Ami”). r level of involvement – we are an active participant from field to cup in order to ensure maximum bean quality and optimum brewing conditions; our food selections are prepared fresh every day and we strive to reduce our environmental footprint by reducing, re-using and recycling wherever possible. There are two Café Ami locations for your enjoyment – Café Ami in Vancouver General Hospital and Café Ami in University of British Columbia Hospital

We also operate Petit Ami in the Granville Island Public Market, which specializes in a variety of organic coffees from around the world. Petit Ami (“little friend”) is a lively, little coffee shop with a big heart. We’re a destination coffee shop, located in the Granville Island Public Market. Whether you’re a local or a tourist, we know you’ve come to Granville Island for a reason – to visit galleries and boutiques, to shop for the freshest local produce, seafood, baked goods, and of course, fresh coffee. To be a destination coffee shop, we have to serve our coffees fresh, fast and friendly. We have to offer something unique; something better than our competition; something memorable. We strive to provide the ultimate coffee experience for all of our guests, and our local following knows how passionate we are about brewing and serving the best cup of coffee we can, with a smile and some friendly banter. We’ve got a formula that’s winning the hearts and taste buds of even the most discerning coffee lovers. As a purveyor of exceptional quality organic coffees, we make it a priority to not only be environmentally responsible, but ethically correct as well, with coffees that are fairly traded, estate grown, plantation friendly and locally roasted.
