Good evening! I'm heading out of town on [music] business (not going to Expo) on Saturday (22nd) until Thurs (27th). Any orders placed on this Friday or later will probably get out the door one week after that. So this is your cue to buy coffee now, right on.

Desta Gola / Gorbota micro-region, Wonago Woreda, Gedeo Zone, SNNPR, Ethiopia

Grade 1 Washed Heirloom - Organic

Tasting Notes - Black Cherry, Lemon, Black Tea, Brown Sugar

This fantastic lot was grown by coffee farmer Desta Gola on his ten acre farm near the town of Gorbota. The coffee is immaculately sweet - the kind of cup where it actually tastes like someone added a spoonful of brown sugar in when you had your back turned. The sweetness is  doesn't crowd out the plentiful florals, ripe cherry acidity and classic black tea and lemon complexity. A standout example of a washed Ethiopian coffee, and an easy cup to brew with a variety of ways.

Like most washed Ethiopias this makes a great espresso as well, with the florals coming to the forefront especially with fast-flowing extractions (12-20 seconds total).

ps - Very limited quantities of this coffee are available. I should have bought more of this green but I didn't.

Very glad to release this dreamy, straight-ahead washed Colombia Gesha from producer team Diego Leguizamo and Karol Ortega.

Youse have heard me whine about over-processed, over-fermented, anaerobic natural blah blah etc plenty so I won't get into that here, but I am so glad whenever I can find a simple, no mumbo-jumbo washed example of heavily hyped cultivars like Pink Bourbon and Gesha. This one comes to us from via the good folks at

Beans and brew available now at and on generalstrikecoffee.com

New release:
Morona Zamora / Various Smallholder Communities / Ecuador

Washed Process / Typica

Tasting Notes - Milk Chocolate / Candy Apple / Cacao Nibs

This one is a coffee everyone can agree on - Loads of milk chocolate up front, with enough sparkling acidity to make fill out the high end and balance the sweetness. This coffee was grown by a number of smallholder farming communities around the South of Ecuador, under the guidance of respected producer Juan Peña. A refreshing washed process daily drinker with plenty of brightness and complexity that's still familiar enough to share with the Tim Horton's lovers in your life.
