Well… it’s a very rainy Monday morning here in Vancouver, which means it’s the perfect excuse to slow down for a bit, right? If the weather has you feeling a little gloomy, come pop in and turn that frown upside down with a fabulous almond croissant and a really good cup of coffee! And if you’re stuck in the office, we’re available on DoorDash and UberEats. How good is that?

Some mornings simply call for a cappuccino and a really good croissant.

It’s a little chilly outside today, which feels like the perfect excuse to slow down for a moment with something warm in your hands and something buttery on your plate. Our almond croissants are fresh out of the oven, and for a short time our pistachio croissants are back as well. If you love them as much as we do, you might want to come by sooner rather than later because they never last very long! 🤭

Of course, if you’d rather not head out and freeze your little toes this morning, we completely understand. You can always stay cozy at home and order Mon Pitou through or , and we’ll take care of the rest.

However you start your morning, we hope it includes something warm, something delicious, and a little moment of calm in the middle of the week.

We’re expanding our little team at Mon Pitou and looking for another barista all-rounder to join us.

This is one of those jobs that’s about a lot more than just coffee. It’s early mornings with the espresso machine humming, warm pastries coming out of the oven, regulars walking through the door who you’ll know by name and by order. It’s being part of a small neighbourhood spot where the days are busy, the sandwiches are stacked high, and the team feels like family.

Good morning, Vancouver! She’s very wet out there today. ☔️

Good morning! I usually pop on here to say hello and gently encourage you to come in for a coffee, and a pain au chocolat, naturally, which you absolutely still should. But today, I thought I’d shake things up just a little and share a charming little fact I stumbled across this morning.

On January 19, 1943, something that was interesting to me happened in Ottawa. Princess Margriet of the Netherlands was born in a hospital room that had been temporarily declared Dutch territory so she could hold full Dutch citizenship at birth. The Dutch royal family was living in exile in Canada during the Second World War, and this thoughtful gesture became a lasting symbol of the bond between our two countries. I just love details like that.

For me, that looks like a peanut butter and jam sandwich tucked into a butter croissant, with a fabulous latte in hand. Simple, nostalgic, and deeply comforting.
