Spaghetti alla Chitarra.🎶

Typical of the Abruzzo region in Italy, the name stems from the tool by which it is made from, the 'chitarra,' which literally translates to 'guitar.' While the first date chitarra was made remains unknown, sources day it dates back as early as the 1800s.

Should you wish to upgrade your olive oil and balsamic situation (and we think you should), these two Italian gems are worth noting:

Tonda Iblea Monocultivar 'Castel di Lego' E.V.O.O.'s olive flavour is both intense and fruity, with hints of tomato, almond, artichoke, cut grass and aromatic herbs. Sweet and spicy notes come together harmoniously with just a light hint of bitterness.

And...

Founded in 1605, the Giuseppe Giusti Gran Deposito Riccardo Giusti 'acetone balsamico' hails from Modena, and is from an old favourite recipe of Riccardo Giusti. Extraordinarily rich and thick-aged, it starts from careful selection of grapes cooked over a low flame then left to age in antique barrels. 'The most ancient balsamic vinegar of Modena' and a true classic.
