I created this to mimic how your body feels after a long day of sitting in the sun jumping in the salty waves. Sun kissed, salty skin, relaxed muscles, cozied up on the couch barely able to keep your eyes open. I wanted us Type B {C,D,E} moms to be able to have something that felt special without having to put on a wildly stacked bedtime routine that feels forced or out of place, & a solution that actually WORKS. I can't guarantee your deams won't include a flying cow being taken by a spaceship from the jurassic time period though.

Hello Sunshine fam ☀️

After a lot of talks with & support from Bre, I've decided on keeping this page, because all of the things we intended for the Sunshine Studio to be, I still would like to offer in our community just in a different capacity and at a different pace. It will be through community play dates, a small forest/unschooling group, seasonal events hosted at my home , art/craft projects/recipes/ideas & gatherings. It will also center on my physical product sales, including live sales for kids featuring my crystal adventures as well as my sleep sprays, & community markets hosted on my property , and the eventual dream apothecary stand ✨️

This is going to start slow and WILL BE a personal/brand page moving forward, so i completely understand if you would prefer to unfollow as it's not a physical business anymore (in the traditional sense). At this time, I'm focusing on sharing here as a creative outlet, & to maintain community connection while I work on myself, grieve & heal from the tragedy of losing my husband suddenly.

The goal is to eventually be an outdoor focused creative space & family centered resource in the local community.

I currently hold a community and justice services diploma with a focus on working with high needs and at risk youth 12 to 18, certificates in crystal healing practitioner, EFT for Kids, as well as Kids yoga and breathwork. I'm currently studying inner child reclamation & cord cutting. As an inner child facilitator , earth lover, & community supporter , I would love my work, and eventual space, to focus on allowing our kids to experice a whimsical childhood, earth connection , creativity while connecting parents back to their inner child allowing them to experince parenthood through the eyes of their children with support & connection of a like minded community where their kids are always centred & allowed to be free 🫶✨️🖤

I will be changing the name of the page and will be starting to post as a personal brand page & as I start the transition of clearing out the physical studio, I'd be MORE than happy for anyone who donated items to get them back 🫶✨️ If you would like me to keep the items please know they will be used to set up a kid centred space here on my property, used during community gatherings, as well as potentially donated back to the community if there is a specific need!

Anyone who had donated items to the studio in hopes and dreams of seeing them used for the community we were building, PLEASE you are more than welcome to message us and arrange pick up if you'd like them back.

Otherwise what will happen is I will use them to build a space here at my home & they will be continued to be used and gifted to our community via play dates here, forest/homeschooling groups, or those who could benefit . We still want our village to thrive, it's just going to look a little different while I navigate this life change.

Hi everyone 🖤 it's is with pure devastation, I'm sharing that I'll be listing our studio back up for sale. I wanted our beautiful community to hear it from me first, before it goes anywhere else.

This space is truly a dream come true, and I believe opening the doors, even for such a short time is what brought the community to me in my time of desperation and need. I love absolutely everything about the space and how it unfolded. I have loved watching moms curl up w a coffee and book while their kids played around, seeing all the parents have a space they felt safe to bring their kids, teens sitting and chatting with me grabbing snacks, watching old movies......people coming know to grab treats a drinks on their way to the beach, and morning meeting with my best friend over coffee planning our future here!

I just cant continue running this space without my husband & his encouragement.

Some of you knew it as the corner store my husband and I ran for a couple of years (many many years before that it was run successfully by Ruth!), and more recently as the studio we poured our hearts into: a cozy little world of bookstore, coffee bar, lounge, analog games, and a kids' art studio, all wrapped up in one gorgeous space with an ocean view upstairs.

We put so much love into this place, & so much in upgrades just this past year alone. New floors, fresh paint, upgraded electrical, brought up to fire code, new fire exit signs and lighting, the basement fully cleared out, a new deck and stairs along the side, a new upstairs entry door, and for the very first time since we've had it, plumbing run up to the second floor, so the whole upper level is open and ready to become a stunning studio apartment or secondary business with just a little more work. Downstairs is ready right now to be a coffee shop, an ice cream counter, a classic corner store again, or a beach shack serving hot dogs and cold drinks to everyone heading to the park, lounge, book store, art studio, community centre, the possibilities really are endless. This building has been part of Port Maitland for so long, and the energy in it is so good, it deserves someone who will love it the way it was intended to be loved and shared with the community.

My husband passed away suddenly last month, and this dream was really his belief in me as much as it was mine, and without him here I just can't carry it forward the way it needs, so I'm listing it for and sharing it here locally first, in case there's someone in this community who's been waiting for exactly this.

⭐️TEMPORARY CLOSURE⭐️

Hello everyone 🌞

After some thought, I have made the decision to temporarily close the studio to allow myself time to mourn and collect my thoughts, as well as spend this immediate time with my boys, friends & family. I feel that if I try to jump back into getting people to manage the store , or myself getting back, I will ultimately regret that decision. Jeff's dream was to be a husband , father, and to spend as much time with his kids as possible, and I'm so grateful now that he made the decision to step back from the workforce to be home with the kids while I opened Sunshine Studio . He was SO proud of me and what I have created, all with him cheering me on and supporting me creating my dream space. I know I will want to return to the space, I just need time , and luckily I am able to take it .

I think to start I will close for July. Since I will still be at the studio several days , I WILL post if I'm in store and will click the open sign on if we are ready for some company!

I have an amazing friend group & community behind me who will help me re-open better than ever. We have so many ideas.

I thank you all for your love, support and kind words during this time of tragedy for our family.

Happy Tuesday sunshine fam☀️🫶🏻

Unfortunately, we’ve decided to close the store today (Tuesday) as our schedule won’t allow for opening for 9 😕 due to some unforeseen car troubles.

We’ll keep you all updated but we may be closed for the rest of this week.
