Almost 20 years ago, we relocated from River John to Truro and opened up Revana Pizza. We didn’t know that the very first customer to walk through the doors and purchase a slice of pizza would also change our lives forever. Such was the case with our dear friend, Scott.
Very quickly Scott became not just a regular customer, but one of our truest friends. He had a heart like no other. The kindness he spread throughout our community was more than we can put into words. It feels surreal to speak of him in the past tense, because what he has done in his life has left an impact that will continue to out live him.
We remember the days of COVID with the quarantines and lockdowns when Scott would call to chat and check in. If he ever caught wind that we were busy, he would show up unannounced, get behind the counter and start taking phone calls to lighten the load off of our team. Despite our many protests in fear of him being exposed to COVID and getting sick, he was persistent on helping us and wouldn’t leave until rush hour was over. He would always show up. He even began managing our page just as a way to take the load off our plates (as if he didn’t have a heavy enough load himself). He was known as “our angel”, especially during those hard times.
Scott, you are now officially our angel. We wish we could express to you one more time how much of an impact you’ve had on our lives, but we trust that you knew how special you were to us. You were a beacon of light, radiating kindness, comfort and generosity wherever you went. You embodied the true essence of selflessness, and we could all benefit from taking a page out of your book. Your passing has left a void in our hearts that can never be filled.
Rest in peace, our dear friend. Your memory will forever be a blessing, and your legacy will continue to inspire us to be better, to do better, and to love better.
