Our favourite Chef Lin is here to teach everyone a bit about Xinjiang cuisine!
ENGLISH TRANSLATION:
My name is Chef Lin, and I’m the Head Cook at Magical Taste of China in Toronto’s Chinatown. Xinjiang cuisine comes from the Xinjiang region in northwest China, home to many diverse cultures and flavors. Our food is heavily influenced by the Uyghur culture and is always Halal.
What makes Xinjiang food unique is its bold and aromatic flavors — a mix of spices, fresh herbs, and grilled or hand-pulled ingredients. Meat, especially lamb and beef, is a central part of many dishes, and we use traditional methods like roasting, grilling, and hand-pulling noodles.
At Magical Taste of China, we focus on keeping these authentic flavors alive. Every dish is prepared with care to make sure our customers experience the true taste of Xinjiang. It’s hearty, flavorful, and full of tradition — that’s what Xinjiang food is all about.
