The Granite Brewery was first established in Halifax in 1985, making it one of Canada's oldest microbreweries. Today marks 8 years of Tim being a part of the Granite crew. 👏👏

8 years of early mornings, late nights, brewing countless batches, problem-solving, and helping make Granite what it is today.

If you’ve ever had a conversation with Tim about beer, you know how deep his passion is for crafting a quality experience. He puts an insane amount of care into every step of the process for the beer we get to share and enjoy with everyone!

If you see Tim around the brewery make sure to give him a congrats and thank you for all his hard work!

Yesterday marked the last shift for our dear friend, Moorthy.

Some of you may not recognize his face, but Moorthy has been an integral part of our back of house team for 16 YEARS! Moorthy joined us in 2010 as a dishwasher and told us he stayed this long because he really loved the people he worked with.

He is one of the most genuinely kind, happy and thoughtful humans to ever work at the Granite. I mean, just look at that smile. He's moving on to spend more time with his family.

He will be dearly missed. We love you, Moorthy! 🍻🍻

We're back for our 2nd Annual ALS Fundraiser!

Last year, we raised over $35,000 in support of ALS—and more importantly, we felt the strength of this community in full force.

This year, we’re doing it again!

Ron Keefe—Granite’s founder and the heart behind everything we do—continues to face ALS with the same courage and resilience that built this place over 30+ years. We’re rallying around him and everyone impacted by this disease.

On June 7, we’ll take part in the Walk to End ALS Canada, followed by our 2nd Annual ALS Fundraiser & BBQ on the Granite patio. Every dollar raised supports ALS research and vital care services.

It’s double release day at the Granite!

With warmer weather finally here, Summer Ale is back—your perfect patio sipper. This classic golden ale brings bready malt notes with a touch of citrusy hops: crisp and refreshing at 4.2% ABV.

Keep on Buzzin has also returned. Now in its second year, this brew supports Ales for ALS, with $1 from every pint donated to the ALS Superfund to help fund a cure. At 5.5%, it’s hazy and bursting with peach and mango hop character.

This beer was brewed for Lou Del Re, who introduced us to Ales for ALS in Canada. Diagnosed at just 30, Lou is a true beacon of light, living each day to the fullest. “Keep on Buzzin” is his mantra, and this beer is our way of showing just how much of an inspiration he is.

Both patios are open, the pints are flowing, and we can’t wait to have you! ☀️☀️🍻🍻

From learning the brewing process alongside her dad, Ron Keefe, to now leading the tanks here at Granite, Mare represents the legacy, resilience, and passion that lives within these walls.
Granite has always been about community, generations growing up here, stories shared over pints, and history in every pour.
