Set in an array of Victorian rowhouses, Sassafraz Restaurant has evolved through the decades to become a magical space in the heart of historic Yorkville Toronto. Located downtown at the corner of Bellair and Cumberland, the little yellow house has “seen it all” from the early hippie movement of the 60’s to the lack of movement that comes from too much Bordeaux. Our Cumberland Room recently filled with music as PhD candidates from the University of Toronto Faculty of Music gathered for an intimate opera performance for friends and family.

Among the brilliant vocalists was Jacob Thomas, an accomplished member of the Sassafraz team, performing as a tenor.
