Happy Wednesday!

What a beautiful day today.

The May 2026 edition of the Yorkville Post ran a cool article asking 70 Toronto Chefs to pick the 70 best restaurants in the city.

We were mentioned by a chef or more as one of their favorites. This means a lot and we are truly honored to be part of this list.

We were grouped in the SPEND A LITTLE group which is cool with us. We are proud to provide authentic Korean food without people having to break the bank!

Happy New Year!!! Happy 2026!

We want to let everyone know that we will be closed from January 20th, until January 29th due to Kitchen Renovations.

2025 was not a kind year to us.
We dealt with a fire.
We dealt with half of our sign falling off.
We dealt with rising costs and slower economy.

We will reopen on Friday January 30th, 2026!

I cannot stress how thankful I am to everyone for their love and support. This past January, I was blessed by alot of people. I don't usually celebrate my birthday but a lot of people reminded me it is not such a bad thing to celebrate one's birthday. Truly grateful for the reminder.

I need a break. My staff needs a break. My wife needs a break. I am going to use this time off to meditate, regroup, and come back with a vengeance! It will be: RETURN of THE KIMCHI JEDI!!!!!

Happy Friday everyone.

This post really means a lot to me. This one is special.

Recently back in August of 2025, Adam brought his family, visiting Toronto.
Adam is here tonight and this time Stacey's parents are back here tonight, all the way from Ottawa.

Adam saw me and wanted to give me a gift. He told me it was from his 9 year old Nephew, Ben.

Lately business has been really slow. Not just us, but many other small businesses are struggling. I have been stressed and honestly, really worried about the future.

After reading this note from Ben, all my worries and stress went away. I'm still blown away. This was from a young 9 year old boy.

Thank you Ben for inspiring me and reminding me of what's really important and why I love being at the restaurant.

This note is now at the front on the desk counter. Anytime I am feeling down, I just need to look to Ben's touching card and words of encouragement.

Ben, thanks for starting my weekend off on such a lovely note and thank you for your thoughtfulness, kind and loving spirit. I hope you always stay true to who you are.

I hope everyone has an awesome weekend.

I was bouncing for coins because of the current state of our economy. I love how my wife .baek tells me to jump and then starts laughing. She is one mean Princess Peach!

Game 4 is tonight for our Jays. Let's wish them luck and hopefully they can take care of the Yankees tonight!

Tonight is also the Toronto Maple Leafs season opener!

What a time to be alive as a Toronto Sports fan in the city of Toronto!!!

Wishing the Jays and Leafs all the luck tonight.

My wife and I got so excited. .baek decided to body check me and throw punches before the games got underway.

I got 5 Minutes for Fighting, 2 Minutes for Roughing.
My wife got a Game Misconduct for being too pretty.

Thanks everyone for your ongoing love and support. Things have been quiet and slow lately. We are always thankful and grateful for your unwavering support. We hope you will visit us or order takeout from us whenever you can!

Game 3 starts tonight in NY and we are hoping that the Jays can close the series tonight!

I got dressed and practiced my batting swings in case they needed a pinch hitter but after seeing Games 1 and 2, I don't think they need any help.

What a day to be alive on a Tuesday as a Blue Jays fan in Toronto.

Wishing the Toronto Blue Jays all the luck tonight!

Action!

Korean Village Restaurant will be closed from September 30th (Tuesday) to October 3rd (Friday) due to a movie shoot. We literally have no idea what the movie is but I do know that I will be coming by everyday to make sure all the lights are off and the doors are closed!

We will reopen on Saturday October 4th, at 12PM!

Happy Friday everyone!

We had one of the wildest Thursdays ever last night.

We experienced a fire at the side of the restaurant in the late afternoon.

Thankfully nobody was hurt and we were able to continue operating since there was no damage inside. Unfortunately, the side wall looks like scorched Earth, and our telephone cable lines were burned.

To anyone trying to make a reservation, so sorry for the inconvenience. We are hoping Bell Canada will be able to repair the wires so we can go back to accepting reservations and takeout orders.

Special thanks to our neighbor, for alerting police and letting us know about the fire. Their kitchen staff also came out and use their fire extinguishers to help put out the fire until the Firefighters came to douse all the flames.

Special thanks to and for their quick response and assistance.

Being on the phone for 3 hours with our insurance company, Bell Canada, and Contractors wasn't fun either but I am still thankful. We are STILL OPEN FOR BUSINESS!!!!!

Nothing can prepare you for a fire 🔥 as most times it can just start on a whim and out of the blue. Again, thankfully, nobody got hurt. I hope nobody ever has to go through this. Not fun.

It's Saturday. You know what that means?

Koreatown Street Festival time!!!
We are about to start shortly.
1pm until 9pm.
We have amazing acts, lots of booths, tons of giveaways like free kimchi samples from !!!
Thank you to our sponsors, the city of Toronto, our volunteers, and everyone who will visit the festival today!!!!

Please wear sunscreen and DO NOT wear a suit like I am. My wife convinced me to ditch the tie. I need to listen to her always.

Happy Friday Everyone.

We received an invitation from to come and showcase authentic Korean Cuisine as well as plug our 2nd Annual Koreatown Street Festival.

Special thanks to Michael Chu for reaching out to us. Special thanks to the hosts, . They are so friendly and down to Earth, along with the production crew who were so accommodating as well! They let me grill Korean BBQ inside the studio. Korean BBQ in the morning should be more like every morning!!!

I was unable to get much sleep last night, but it was definitely worth it.

We hope to see everyone tomorrow at the festival located in Koreatown, on Bloor St, from 1PM to 9PM. My wife and I will be doing our Kimchi Making Demonstration again this year, not once, but TWICE! We cannot wait to see everyone come out again this year!
