Long weekend research assignment: check out the neighbourhood, one stop at a time. 🍸

We took ourselves on a little Beaches bar crawl to get a feel for the spots, the streets, the patios, the cocktails, and the community we’re so excited to be joining.

Safe to say… we love it here.

Queen East has always had its local legends.

Just up from Leuty’s sits the Kew Beach Fire Hall (station 227), originally opened in 1906 after local residents pushed for better fire protection as The Beaches community continued to grow.

The station still stands today as one of the neighbourhood’s most recognizable landmarks — and every time we drive past it, we’re reminded of the architecture and character that make us love this area so much.

For well over a century, the fire hall has watched this neighbourhood evolve — from horse-drawn fire wagons and lakefront cottages to the vibrant community The Beaches is today.

Part of what excites us most about Leuty’s is becoming part of a neighbourhood with stories like these.

Because around here, history isn’t hidden…it lives right on the street corners. ✨
