Rooted in reconciliation, community, and respect for the land (Iisaak): Located on 12 acres in Tofino on Tla-o-qui-aht territory, what began as a vision has evolved into a living sanctuary for Indigenous-led conservation and cultural resurgence, the Clayoquot Campus - former Tofino Botanical Gardens!

As the inaugural place-based learning site for the Pacific IPCA Innovation Centre, our journey started with a commitment to bridge traditional wisdom and ecological restoration. A pivotal milestone came when the land was formally transferred to the Clayoquot Indigenous Conservation Innovation Centre, securing this space for community-led stewardship. Through extensive deep-energy retrofits, we transformed the property into a fully accessible, net-zero facility.

Today, the campus operates as an interconnected ecosystem. Visitors gather at the net-zero IISAAK Ecolodge, explore 12 acres of native plant restoration throughout the Naa’Waya’Sum Coastal Indigenous Gardens, and connect over local food and Nuu-chah-nulth carving traditions at the čukʷaa haʔuk Cafe and Welcome Centre.

In two days, our cafe will close for the season BUT the Gardens will remain open for the rest of the winter! Please make sure to check weather conditions before you arrive and use railings and stay on the path!

Every stay and project directly funds Indigenous-led conservation across the Pacific region. We extend our deepest gratitude to the Elders, hereditary leaders, partners, and community members who built this dream into reality.
