On September 30, the Peninsula Bruce Trail Club recognizes the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and honours Survivors, intergenerational Survivors, the children who never returned home, and the families and communities who continue to carry their legacy.
We are grateful for our ongoing relationship with the Saugeen Ojibway Nation and for the opportunity to walk, hike and work together on the traditional territory of the Chippewas of Nawash Unceded First Nation and Saugeen Ojibway Nation.
This year, the Chippewas of Nawash Unceded First Nation invite community members and neighbouring communities to gather at Cape Croker Park for an evening of remembering, learning, sharing and connection.
