Did you know there’s a little piece of Thunder Bay history hanging
on the walls of The Grill on Cumberland?
When we were designing our renovated restaurant, we wanted the space to celebrate not only our new beginning, but also the history that came before us. We started by visiting the Thunder Bay Museum, where we selected historical photographs connected to the history of The
Prince Arthur Hotel, the restaurant, and our community. Then came the fun part, and a lot of decisions! We carefully selected the frame sizes, styles, colours and layout, figuring out how all the pieces could come together beautifully along our hallway. Once the frames were chosen, the photographs were printed and paired with gold plaques, each telling the story behind the photograph. And finally… it all came together. ✨
Today, our hallway is more than just a passage to the restaurant. It’s a little journey through our history. ❤️ We hope that the next
time you visit The Grill on Cumberland, you’ll take a moment to walk through the hallway, look at the photographs, and discover a little more about the story behind the place we call home. History on our walls.
