'People forget so easy', says veteran at annual flag-raising
The Slovak Legion raises a poppy flag at city hall to honour and remember those who died, survived, and are still in battle. Thank you to Kim Treichler and the Slovak Legion Colour Party for honouring our veterans on behalf of the Slovak Legion Branch #129.

10/31/2025

Remember to proudly wear a poppy as a tribute to all who fought, and those who continue to serve as part of the Canadian Armed Forces, and those who died to ensure we have the freedoms we do in Canada today! “A Veteran is any person who is serving or who has honourably served in the Canadian Armed Forces, the Commonwealth or its wartime allies, or as a Regular Member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, or as a Peace Officer in a Special Duty Area or on a Special Duty Operation, or who has served in the Merchant Navy or Ferry Command during wartime.”
This year, the Slovak Legion members will be holding Remembrance Day Services November 11, 2025 at 10:35 am at the Slovak Legion.
Fort William First Nation Remembrance Day Ceremony is at the MT McKay Cenotaph November 11, 2025.
The Fort William Gardens will also have a Remembrance Day Ceremony on November 11, 2025.
Remembrance Day will also take place at the Waverly Park Cenotaph with Parade form up on November 11, 2025.
Attend a Remembrance Day Ceremony and thank a veteran. Your freedoms and mine in Canada came from the sacrifices of many and should not be taken for granted. We will remember them…
