When our family settled in Canada, we discovered ingredients that never appeared in our mother’s kitchen back home. Instead of leaving them behind, we welcomed them in—preparing them with the flavors and spices that define our heritage. What began as an experiment has become one of our family’s favorites. This dish is our story—crispy Brussels sprouts over orange hummus, layered with Afghan spices and finished with beet vinaigrette. It’s where Afghan heritage meets the ingredients we’ve come to love in our new home.

She’s been with us for the last 4 years and is one of the core members of our team. Her hard work, dedication, and positive energy have made her an important part of the Afghan Kitchen family.

Fun fact: Her dream is to become a pilot. ✈️ If you ever see a plane flying over South Surrey or Boundary Bay, there’s a good chance she’s flying it.

We’re proud to be part of her journey and can’t wait to see her dreams take off. ❤️

Made with rare saffron threads sourced from Afghanistan, this tea carries the aroma and history of the ancient Silk Road, where saffron was once treasured more than gold. In Afghan homes, serving saffron tea is a symbol of warmth, respect, and gathering around the table with family and guests.

Slowly steeped to bring out its deep floral aroma and golden colour, every pot is meant to be shared.
