The Battery Cafe serves fine Detour coffee, tea, baked goods, soups, sandwiches and salads in a warm welcoming environment with a walk up window for hikers. We are situated at the entrance to the Battery neighborhood in East St. John's, at the foot of Signal Hill National Park, with a beautiful view over St. We have live music and events on Saturday and Wednesday evenings, 7-9pm.

Our space is available for event rental Sunday-Tuesday, 5-9pm, and includes custom catering options, plus music setup if needed.

Today, we honour and support our Indigenous community members for National Day of Truth and Reconciliation (Orange Shirt Day), in remembrance of all the children who were taken from their families, and so many of them who never returned. We wear orange to recognize the ongoing need for reconciliation and the damaging impact of Canada/Turtle Island's colonial history.

Please join this afternoon at the Confederation Building for their annual Rally for Reconciliation if you are able. 🧡
