The Battery Cafe serves fine Detour coffee, tea, baked goods, soups, sandwiches and salads in a warm welcoming environment with a walk up window for hikers. We are situated at the entrance to the Battery neighborhood in East St. John's, at the foot of Signal Hill National Park, with a beautiful view over St. We have live music and events on Saturday and Wednesday evenings, 7-9pm.

Peaceful Loft got hit with some senseless vandalism that’s a an expensive fix. I’m sure it’s hard enough running a restaurant on Duckworth right now without this nonsense. Please show Peaceful Loft support when they reopen this weekend! They serve delicious vegan Chinese food and give the most amazing service.

Meet the proud new owners of The Battery Cafe! Matt and Shauna Power are long-time community advocates, parents, coffee-lovers, small-scale farmers, and beekeepers. Now, they're ready to take on one of St. John’s most beloved gathering places! This venture includes the opening of Quidi Vidi Express: Power'd by The Battery Cafe, active all summer in Quidi Vidi Village Artisan Studios.

"We believe that strong communities are built through connection, inclusion, and creating spaces where everyone feels welcome. The Battery Cafe has always been a place where people come together, and we are honoured to continue that tradition while growing into Quidi Vidi."

Friends of The Battery Cafe will, of course, still be greeted by the same fabulous staff while enjoying quality espresso, fresh food, and intimate evening events. The Powers look forward to serving residents and visitors while offering up spaces that celebrate local connection, quality products, and the unique spirit of Newfoundland & Labrador!
