Samara Heritage Farm is named for the delicate, winged seeds of maple trees, called samaras. The maple tree is an iconic piece of Canadian history, and we believe our Canadian breeds are too. We strive to conserve our chosen breeds, while practicing ethical and sustainable farming methods. Each one of our animals is loved, cared for and treated with respect and humanity. We support local when sour

cing the products and services we need, and integrate an old-fashioned approach into our every day farm practices. We believe in education and understanding of the farm-to-table journey, and we pride ourselves on our open, honest and informative relationship with our customers.

Molly's udder looks about ready to burst so I'm expecting we'll see a calf by the end of the weekend! Fingers crossed for a heifer....

Woke up to thunder this morning, and they are calling for some rain later on today. Guess that means I have to stop procrastinating and carry and stack the remaining 10 hay bales out of my driveway and into the barn. Where's the dislike button?

I have been sitting on a rather large piece of exciting news for a couple of months now, but hesitated to share until we knew for certain it was happening. Last night we confirmed the details and made it official - we're moving!!! We have been so blessed with the opportunity to lease our dream farm, and we'll be moved as of August. This means many exciting things for us and the farm, so stay tuned for updates! Here's a sneak peek :)
