These photos span nine years. And looking through them, itās a little hard to believe where those years have taken me. š¤
I certainly didnāt start my career thinking I would someday be designing wedding cakes.
For more than two decades, I built a career in financial services, including 16 years with TD Wealth Private Investment Advice. It was a career I was proud ofāone that taught me so much about people, relationships, business and, most importantly, trust.
But there was always another side of me.
The side that loved creating. Designing. Baking. Photography. Flowers. Beautiful old things. Setting a table. Dreaming up an idea and figuring out how to bring it to life.
Seven years ago, that creative side became Country Cupcakes.
It started smallāwith cupcakes, pink branding, markets and a lot of learning as I went. I certainly didnāt know then what it would eventually become.
Over the years, cupcakes became cakes. Cakes became weddings. And my love of creating expanded into styling, photography, flowers, vintage pieces and all the little details that make a celebration feel personal.
Eventually, Country Cupcakes grew into The Countryside Cakery.
Leaving an established career to build something completely different was never part of the original plan. But looking back, the two chapters arenāt as different as they might seem.
Both have been about people.
Both have required attention to detail, creativity, problem-solving and trust.
And both have allowed me to be part of important moments in peopleās livesājust in very different ways.
Today, I get to combine so many things I love: cake design, baking, styling, photography, flowers, vintage pieces and creating celebrations that feel thoughtful and personal.
Iām proud of the career I built before this. Iām proud of those early Country Cupcakes days. And Iām proud of how much this little businessāand Iāhave evolved along the way.
Nine years of photos. Seven years of cakes. And a career path I never could have predicted.
Looking back, I think all of those chapters were part of getting here. š¤
