Last week at the SRHS 2026 Graduation Ceremony, valedictorian Mei Jennings received The Emerald Light bursary for community hospitality 👩🏻‍🎓 👏.

This bursary recognizes graduating students who have demonstrated community impact and taking pride in how their work makes others feel. In Mei’s case, she stood out for her many hours of contribution to Roseway Manor, The Osprey Arts Centre, and more while sharing her talents in piano performance and clearly excelling in academics. 🎹

Congratulations to Mei, and best of luck heading into the next phase of a bright future! 🤝

Monday was our last day of Yui. 🥲

This is a very difficult post to write, as Yui’s talents and capabilities continuously left us at a loss for words. Yui only just completed the 10th grade at SRHS but her intelligence, national-level accomplishments, and witty personality show she’s wise beyond her years and absolutely destined for greatness in any path she pursues. As much as we will miss her, we are excited to see her tackle and conquer the many opportunities that come with life in the city. Any and every team she joins will be just as blessed to have her as we were this year.

Remember us when you’re rich and famous, You Legend. 😜

The Municipality of Shelburne would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to The Emerald Light for the important role they played in our Grad Breakfasts this week.

For the past two years, The Emerald Light has generously assisted us by helping to order the eggs and bacon and by cooking the bacon for our breakfasts. Their support helps make these special events possible and ensures our graduates start their celebration day with a great meal.

Community events like our Grad Breakfasts are successful because of partnerships and collaboration, and we are incredibly grateful for organizations and businesses that step up to lend a hand.

Today is our 4th birthday! 🎂 To celebrate, we’re sharing our episode of Down Home by Eastlink TV 📺

This episode was shot nearly 2 years ago. Some of you may have already caught it when it originally aired on Eastlink’s television channel, but it has only recently made its way onto Youtube. So, this may be a first view for most of you. 👀

I’m incredibly proud of this episode and extremely grateful to have had this opportunity not just to showcase this restaurant but, as you’ll see, I also got to name-drop and put a spotlight on Shelburne and many of its successful people and attractions. 💚

In this episode you’ll hear a lot about how this restaurant came to be, the passions that drive it forward, the true story behind naming The Emerald Light, and plenty of moments hyping up a postive future for our community. 💭

Thank you all for these first 4 years. Although they weren’t mentioned by name in this episode, the work being done at these attractions are essential to the foundation of what makes Shelburne a land of opportunity and they deserve so much attention. 🙌
