As I’ve reflected on the past 2 years, it saddens me to bring this announcement. With the recent 10% increase in food, when I’ve sat down to assess how this would affect prepped.bykay, it’s forced me to come to the realization that it is not realistic to continue my meal prep service.

With the cost of living increasing, we’ve seen a steady decline in customer orders along with an increase in cost of goods. This combination is not an ideal mix. We struggled through the past year, trying to minimize price increases, but with this last increase we would need to increase our prices by 10$+ a meal to stay afloat when thinking of wages, utilities, groceries, fuel, etc.

Although this is an incredibly hard decision, it’s also made me understand that we are a desired service and we hold a valuable place in many people’s lives. So with a negative outcome, there’s always a silver lining.

I want to not close prepped.bykay forever, but I want to transition this business to becoming an educational source for people. I want to teach you how to do what I do at home. To save you time and money while trying to eat healthy.

My plan is to offer digital products that can help you plan and prepare to successfully meal prep along with a full cook book of all your favourite prepped.bykay meals.

It’s been an honour serving you all, and if the economy ever decides to come back to level ground, I would eagerly be so happy to start cooking for the wonderful community of Grande Prairie again.

I hope you continue to follow us and stay tuned as we transform prepped.bykay into the food blog of recipes of all the meals you’ve come to love and enjoy and allow me to share my knowledge with you down the road!

Friendly reminder that orders close for Sunday + Monday pick up every Friday at 2 pm. All orders placed after will be charged a $60 rush order fee.

We have had this policy in place for a couple weeks but have been allowing a grace period as we transition clients to this policy. This will be the last week that any late orders will be accepted. Late orders cause stock shortages and higher costs to obtain fresh ingredients last minute. With an increase in food costs taking place, this puts an additional increase in our cost of goods.

We appreciate your understanding in this!

This will be a longer post but it has some important information for our clients.

Firstly, we want to extend our gratitude and appreciation for all your support and business over the previous years. I built this little company from the ground up and it has introduced me to so many amazing people in this community. I’ve sincerely appreciated every order, conversation and friendship that has grown from these little containers of food.

As times are ever changing and the unstable economy, I have made the difficult decision to take a step back from prepped.bykay. With rising costs, it’s been a challenge to make a healthy living doing this full time without increasing prices extremely high.

As I navigate forward, I have taken the decision to take prepped.bykay part time as I settle back into a full time job. The following is critical information on how prepped.bykay will be moving forward:

🌱We will strictly operate on Sundays + Mondays.
🌱All orders must be placed by Friday at 2 pm. If orders are required in less than 48 hours or placed after the closing time, a 60$ rush order fee will be applied to your order.
🌱Pick up windows will be available from 3-5 pm, and will be done via porch pick up. Deliveries will be completed within the same window.
🌱If you would like to request an order for a day outside of Sunday + Monday, please send us a DM and we will see if we can accommodate but we cannot guarantee any orders outside of Sunday + Monday.
🌱I hope to bring back another weekly day for pick ups in the future, but as we adjust to the change I need to make sure that I maintain quality in the orders we take one while learning how to re-put together the puzzle pieces of my new schedule.

It’s a new year with new goals + new flavours! 🤩

💥We are coming in with a punch with a ton of new meals and bowls. 😍

🤔 We will be discontinuing some of our old flavours and re-categorizing our menus.

📆This year will be focused on diversifying into other areas, like scramble bowls and comfort foods made healthy! As we explore these other areas, you’ll notice some of our original hot and cold menus will slim down. But don’t worry, it’s just so we can make room for the new and improved! This is only one of our exciting announcements we are bringing with us into ’24 and we can’t wait to share what else we have in store to help you kick your 2024 goals in the bootay!!
