To the man who stood by us through all the criticism and judgment from others. To the guy who encouraged us to ignore the disapproval of the choices we made. To the gentleman who was always happy and never let anything bother him. To the person who checked in on us when no one else did. To the family man who showed us what family truly meant and what it could accomplish.
You taught us to do what we believed in, no matter the outcome. As long as we enjoyed it, it was worth the sacrifice.
Today, I still stand in your place—in your kitchen, in your dining room, and surrounded by your never-ending reminders to be a good person. We continue to cook for you.
You will be deeply missed, Ernie.
