⚠️ WARNING ⚠️
LONG POST AHEAD
Saturday at The Bad Dog Street Party SMASHED.
We started the day with the most amazing local young talent at our Youth Battle of the Bands, sponsored by the DIY Club.
A huge thank you to our good friend Leigh Coltman for putting that whole thing together. It was an absolute blast — and honestly, so amazing to stand there and watch these young people get up on that stage and do their thing. So much talent!! And thanks to our incredibly generous sponsor, EVERY band walked away with a prize. ❤️
Then we reopened at 6pm for a night of seriously amazing music with Centrefold, Brothers Wilde and My Son The Hurricane — and they ALL ROCKED that stage.
Every single band that played this weekend brought their best, and we were SO proud to have that stage filled with that much talent.
A few of our local talents were even invited back to play at Legion Branch 62, who threw a KILLER after party BOTH nights! Huge thank you to the Legion for being such a big part of the weekend and the VERY BEST neighbour
Can we talk about the weather?!?!
We didn’t feel ONE DROP of rain until 12:01am. Literally. 12:01. Right when the event ended. So shoutout to our biggest sponsor of the weekend…
Mother Nature. 😂😂
Now for the Bad Dog team…
THANK YOU
The people who run this great place trusted that our community would show up and support us.
And YOU DID.
To every staff member, manager, owner, staff spouse, family member, friend and some of our amazing regulars who jumped in and helped…
YOU GUYS ARE TRUE CHAMPIONS.
It takes A LOT of work to pull an event off. There were long days, sore feet, last minute problems, things that didn’t go as planned, things that changed 400 times and a whole lot of “okay…how the hell are we going to fix this?” 😂
But you did it.
And you did it together.
Now for the sappy part…
Because honestly, this is the part that means the most to me.
Sarnia is the greatest community in the entire world.
We show up for each other. We support our neighbours. We lend a hand when someone needs it. We celebrate each other.
That’s what community is supposed to be.
If you bought a ticket — you helped.
If you volunteered — you helped.
If you sponsored us with money or a gift in kind — you helped.
If you shared a post, brought a friend, bought a drink, listened to a band, helped solve a problem, donated something, or just showed up…
YOU helped make this happen.
We want more events in our city. We want more live music. We want more reasons to get together. We want to create cool things that bring people together and give local musicians, businesses and organizations a place to shine.
But those things only happen when our community shows up and supports them.
And holy crap, Sarnia…
YOU SHOWED UP.
We did not fall short of support. Not even a little bit.
From the very bottom of our hearts, thank you to EVERY SINGLE PERSON who played a part in this weekend.
You showed us that you will support us when we invest in events
And that means the absolute world to us.
We have more ideas. We want to do more. And now we know that if we build it…
YOU GUYS WILL COME. ❤️
So with a very tired brain, very sore feet and a heart that is honestly pretty damn full…
Thank you, Sarnia.
We love you.
Much love to you all,
Kylie
