After 16 wonderful years on Salt Spring Island, I’m offering PV’s Patate for sale or lease transfer.
What started as a small food cart has become a familiar part of the Ganges community, serving generations of locals, families, students, and visitors. The business is especially known for its falafels and freshly cut potato fries, with a kitchen and menu designed to make the most of a compact, efficient space.
But PV’s Patate is more than just a food cart. It’s a little gathering place.
The outdoor area includes a covered deck, afternoon sunshine, plants, herbs and perennials, as well as a beautiful, handcrafted six-person booth built by a local carpenter. It has been a welcoming spot for friends and families to sit, eat, and spend time together.
The cart itself is truly unique. It was professionally designed and built by a passionate boat builder, with a distinctive curved, sailboat-style roof that gives it plenty of character while making it a solid and practical mobile kitchen. The setup also provides the flexibility to take the business to catering events, festivals, weddings and other community gatherings.
We’ve also had the opportunity to participate in many catering events over the years, which have been a valuable and profitable part of the business. In addition, the business has four established on-island catering events each year, providing a reliable source of additional revenue.
After many memorable years, I feel it’s time to pass PV’s Patate on to someone who would like to continue its story and make it their own.
The food cart, kitchen equipment, furnishings, and business assets are offered for $60,000.
The lease transfer for the current location would be a separate arrangement, with terms to be discussed with interested parties.
